Saw in one of the recent Gaile Gray chat logs that ANet will be starting another "Design a Weapon" contest. I can't wait.
I am no artist and am always totally amazed by others artistic abilites and imaginations. I have a Dragoncrest Axe that I think is the most beautiful weapon I have ever seen.
Here is the link to the chat log. Looks like it is intended for January.

New "Design a Weapon" contest coming

While i LOVe the designs from the contests (thank you Lasareth for designing my sword), i think Anet should get INPUT from the artists into the size of the weapon in relation to the character.
The previous contests ask for images of the weapon and nothing else.
The weapons look good on paper, but look like crap because its too small compared to the character holding it and you cant make any details out.
Look at the Vertebreaker. It looks great on paper. Not in the game.
So, Anet, please include "Size proportions" as part of the entry requirements.

You will have to wait for the official announcement to find out the details. Last year only Prophecies was available for purchase. ANet used some of the designs in Prophecies and some showed up in Factions.
Just thought I would give the guru artists a headsup. You can find last year's rules on guildwars.com in the older news.
