Unique item drop rates

Are they really, really low or am I just very unlucky? From playing through NF I estimate I've killed at least 3-400 bosses, and I've found one unique item ever (some low-level crap from Istan). That's such a tiny chance. Do you need to farm specific areas for decent odds of a unique drop?

Henchies and Heroes get drops as well.

If you are solo farming then you just have bad luck.

I love it when people pull random numbers out of their assess and use those numbers to complain...

Just playing through the story without taking time to do extensive exploring, you've probably only killed 30 bosses tops...(aside from mission bosses). There isn't even 200 bosses in Elona let alone 3-4 hundred... so unless you killed every boss you could possibly find multiple times, you're full of crap.

Given that you're full of crap, bosses don't drop their green everytime, and when they do, it's assigned to a random member of the party. If that member was a henchmen, you don't see the drop.

Unique items drop very rare. It took me ages to farm orosens staff and kaolin wand on my rit, even with only 3 hench. While its true that hench take drops, the chances of you getting the drop are still the same as with a group of people.

He never said he killed 3-400 DIFFERENT bosses....Because I go out and kill, say, Lian, Dragon's Petal once doesn't mean she wont be there again...I have been out into the Wajjun Bazaar multiple times and have killed that boss multiple times. I've never had her lantern. I think you have been overly harsh...not sure there was any call for that.

Your just unlucky, every boss in NF I soloed dropped his green within 5 times. Most even on first or second try.

Harsh tone, but amusing, and undoubtedly true. I would have personally usedthe phrase "over-exaggerating" instead of "full of crap", but each to thier own.

Yes, there's a tiny chance. Considering you get a max damage, max inscription, max mod item, it's fair.

Considering that there's usually 2-4 bosses in every area, and many quests involve going through the same area several times, yes I've probably killed that amount of bosses. 15-20 bosses a day for a few weeks, it's not difficult to imagine numbers like that. I don't rush through the game or complete only primary quests, I do them all and I have done the same areas more than once to get collecting items or to level up heroes.

I usually have a party of either 4 or 8 depending on the difficulty of the area, so let's say an average of 6 party members. The reason I asked (not complained) if I needed to go through specific areas is that I hear about a lot of people farming bosses and getting several uniques a day, so I wondered what was up. I'm fully aware that heroes and henchmen take items, but even with my estimate of, let's say, 350 bosses and an average of 6 party members, it still seemed like a low percentage to me.

I agree the flaming and bashing of those not as experienced in these forums seems to have gotten worse. It is also happens when people dont agree. If you dont agree with the OP or another reply state why, what your view is and leave it at that. I know 2 people that dont post here anymore because of this very fact. Mods please give these guys a little break from the forums when it happens more often. Maybe a little note when posting saying that unacceptable behavior will result in a temp ban and after 3 strikes if you cant behave a permanent ban.

About your green problem. I have one char that went through the whole game with out a green (nightfall). Then in the desolation i got the purifier and ulwis bow (i believe thats right) back to back. Its just a luck thing. I suggest finding a specific green you like and farm it till it drops also take advantage of the green weekends. Thats where i got most of mine.

Aside from the recent green drop weekend, I have gotten 2 greens off bosses, with a 5 to 6-hench party. Yep it's luck...there are certain greens I really want, but never get them off the particular bosses I want them from.

But at least I've gotten them in Nightfall...in Prophecies and Factions I have never gotten a green while farming with henchies. :shrug:

ive gotten greens with full parties of henchment. ive gotten greens solo.

I once went ghial farming, expecting to do 20-30 runs. First kill, green staff. Second kill, green staff again.

Two in a row. So i decided, lets call it a day ;P

Now that's what I call a Lucky Duckie.

I used to get around 2 greens a SF run using a full party of henchies. Thats not to say I always got greens that were worth a damn. And there is always the times you get nothing. Though the best is the time I took full party of henchies and got 5 greens from one run :P, though I usually kill around 13 bosses per run (counting footprint too). Generally kill 3 from outside SF and then 10 inside...its a pain involves high dp but meh, I'll have to try it with heroes probably do better.

Every boss i kill drops there green atleast 90% of the time and every enemy drops either a gold serpent or drawven axe 50% of the time unless im in the underworld then they drop 2 ecto each or fow 5 shards per kill on average.

Your just unlucky.

What makes you think you deserve the drops from Henchies/Heros? Yeah, that would be fair. One person gets the treasure from the work of a full party of eight.

a REALLY bad luck

right show me a baddie that even has dwarven axes in there drop chart and 2 ecto or 5 shards from 1 kill is a pretty good chance of horse crap lies too.
