Austin Area Players Please Note

Hi, there,

Are you age 55+ and a Guild Wars player? We've been made aware of a pretty nifty opportunity: National Public Radio is creating a feature on gaming, and they want to interview Guild Wars players who are age 55+ who would be willing to have NPR visit their residence and record while they are playing.

Could that be you? Post here, or drop me a Private Message if you could help out! I'm not sure how far from Austin NPR is willing to go. Our NCsoft office is there, and the request is through PR at NCsoft, but it's possible NPR would include someone who's not exactly in Austin proper. Can't hurt to include your name if you're interested and if they're willing!

people above 55 play i saw somone looking for an above 60s guild which i thought was strange oh well now i know older people play which is cool

@-sh4d0whunta Why do you find it strange? You will realize with time that getting old doesn't mean you should adapt to the portrait that the media show of old people! Even if your body gets old your mind doesn't!

I'm not exactly 55, but I am in fact in Austin. I've even beta tested games for NCSoft here! Go Austin!

In my second or third childhood ...what were talking about.Well I am close but no cigar.I think I saw on Diablo fansite where someone in 70s was still playing the game.

I'm 41 female and I have 4 GW accounts and I have Prophecies,Factions and Nightfall on 2 of the accounts and just Prophecies & Factions on the other 3 and I also have collectors for all 3,i'm just hooked on GW.. I can blaim 2 of my 3 kids for that because they got me started on GW... I just love the game and dont feel it matters how old you are anyone can play...

my mesmer and monk are both pretty good 55's. with a bit of dp I can get them down to 13's...

I am far away from meeting time and place requirments for an interview and my english accent is tremendous (let's not talk about my spelling) but I felt like offering this line, thinking that it might be appropriate to be heard on air.

i am thouroughly addicted to guild wars.

I have had a lot of younger players calling me 'pops', 'dad' and even 'gramps'.

You see, age does not matter to play a game regardless whether its on-line or something as simple as a game battleships.

it is the conception of many people that games = toys = children and also that being 'older' means that 'no fun'.

Well this is a misconception and those who think this will find out for themselves when they get to this so called 'old' age.

After all, what is time?

I also quote a famous saying by Muhatma Ghandi 'you are never too old to pay games, you grow old when you stop playing them'.
