Lightbringer Procession And Dicussion

Hello.

Please use this thread to dicuss the Lightbringer title

Basically there is an older thread which is now outdated, as much of it was a dicussion of the fixed AFK farming exploit.

Since that has now been fixed by A.net and no longer works, that older thread has been closed. Please use this thread to post about farming locations and builds which still work ingame to get Lightbringer ranks.

Please don't dicuss the old AFK farming, as it can no longer be used anymore.

Also here are the rewards for Lightbringer titles so far:

Rank 1: Title Effect, +5% Damage and -1 Damage Absorption per rank versus Abaddon's demons while activated
Rank 2: Lightbringer's Gaze: Skill. Target foe takes 100 Holy Damage and is interrupted. One additional enemy in the area is struck per rank of Lightbringer.
Rank 3: Lightbringer Signet: Elite Signet. If you are in the range of a servant of Abbadon, you gain 1 adrenaline plus 1 adrenaline and 3 energy for every rank of Lightbringer.

Why was this an exploit and the AFK 9 rings, the lutgardis FF run(people stayed put, let a runner get the points and then got the reward), or letting a monk rez a mob in order to get sunspear rank 9(afterall AN did'nt intend people to get to r9 just yet) not?

Is something an exploit only if AN change something so it no longer works?

The only reason I can think people might think it was an exploit was that it did'nt require players to actually do anything after a certain point in time and not continuously. But then again so did 9 rings. LB rank does give an in game bonus, but then so does lucky/unlucky in that it contributes to KoBD. So I dunno..

As far as I'm concerned there are no exploits. If it's programmed into the game then it is fair game. Now that it has been removed, that's fine too. It doesn't matter either way to me. It's not like someone's AFK farming took away points from someone else.

I'm just wondering how many lightbringer points will be around in the Domain of Anguish. I guess we'll all find out soon.

The Lutgardis FF run gave 100 gold and 2000XP i think. So was'nt 9 rings and the FF run more of an exploit since it affected the economy?

The exploits I do remember for sure were the doppleganger one, where a bug let you get 50K XP over and over again and the 12/8 GvG teams. Both of which were so obviously bugs.

But I really dunno on this one, I note in the closed thread that someone had sought clarification from AN on it. I wonder what came back.

9 Rings is a different subject all together, and doesn't have anything to do with Lightbringer.

I asked nicely if we could avoid talking about the 'exploit" AFK farming. So please can we not speak about it anymore. I made this new thread to give everyone a chance to dicuss farming areas and builds, not how A.net stopped something.

Nightfallen Garden. I went in there just to look around and ended up getting about 600-700 LB points. Once you get the margonite blessing/hunt/whatever it's game on!!1!!!!

there must be 300 margonites waiting to get slaughtered.

I see my previous post was deleted. Because your post was about AFK farming fix, etc... - RTS

I farmed 50 000 pts for main char in DoS and got about 500 pts in 30-40min.
So it's about two days of non-stop farming with those figures to get from 0 to 50k. Not sure if I'll farm max title for other chars though.

Is nightfallen garden useless once you've beat the game? To me, it looks like any other explorable area. (Garden of Seborhin) Am I missing something?

I thought nightfallen garden turns back into regular garden if you finish the game. I also heard that nightfallen garden was the best place to farm for LB points. But now I also see that domain of secrets is supposedly the best place. So is secrets hands down the best right now or is garden actually better, but only if you haven't changed it back by finishing the game?

Personally I think anet should up the bounty a bit. Getting 2 per kill up to 50k kinda takes the fun out of the grind. Granted, maybe the ANET devs figured it would even out considering the more ranks you achieve, the faster killing these guys becomes since you get the lightbringer title bonus damage. But in practice it doesn't speed the grind up by all that much as you still have to walk from point A to point B between groups (last I checked, lightbringer ranks didn't give speed boosts).

I think my nf garden is gone... I thought I was only missing one of the spots on the torment map and now 2 are gone. What is the next best place to farm. I still need several hundred for rank 5.
