If anyone here does this I was just wondering; Why and how do people go through the game at such a low level? I mean I see level 2s in Yaks Bend constantly! The other thing thats weird is that I never see a level 2 in Ascalon City. Sometimes I even see a level 10 in the Crystal Desert O.o. So, yeah, I was just curious on why people do that to themselves.

When I only owned Prophecies, after taking my first character through the game I wanted other high-level characters of other professions but I didn't feel like playing through all of the missions/storyline again. I made some money on my first character and could afford to have a few others run/rushed through the game and powerleveled at Drok's. I would show up in Drok's being approximately level 5-10.

Some people enjoy the missions; I really enjoy farming and just wanted to get some more farming characters. To each his own.

It's called running.

I do a certain thing to prevent noobs going into the desert. I use the 'level system'.

If someone you're running through cay is under lvl 17, you kick them. As in, you run from ToA to Cay, you kick him, and go on through the mission. I usually run the mission free for people, because it takes what... 8 minutes out of my life?

If theres a low level getting ran to the desert, theres a 99% chance that there experienced players rushing through the non sence.

with an level 20 MM and a scroll you can gain about 4 levels on the great northern wall mission. how logn would it take in pre to do that?

And our guild got a level 1 war to marhans grotto for 15k glads. that was fun.

I completed the game properly first time through.

With my second character, did all the Ascalon quests, everything up until Beacons. Then a run to Droks for the armour. Then back to Beacons and played the game through properly again.

Most of those are not their first characters. They played through the missions/quests a few times already and just want to get to the highlevel areas, FoW/UW, or to get their characters pvp ready.

Then there are a few that think running is the "proper" way to play, due to the spamming and believing that's the only way get to the destination.

I don't know why so many people would do that... Impatience, I guess. Prophecies does have a slow and steady pace, after all - and it does take a while before things really start to get interesting.

But I will always refuse to run a player around who can't pull his/her weight due to insufficiently high level. My own playing style relies very heavily on teamwork so if even one party member is acting as little more than dead weight then it puts the whole team at risk. Although for players who can hold their own and really help the rest of the team out, I'm happy to help them run around for no charge (even though my characters could make a mint for it in some areas)

I beat Factions and Prophecies once on my main character. Now, when I create a new character I usually decide what armor I want to get for them, then work towards that to get it as fast as possible. Usually my guildies help me with getting my low-level character from Tyria to Factions or the other way around without needing to do many missions in between. After that, I get back into actual gameplay and follow the storyline. Some characters I like to play right from the start all the way to the end, without running bits in between.

However, I don't understand the low-level characters that expect to get into random PUGs when they clearly do not belong in the area they are in. First of all, a low-level player tends to be a strain on others. Secondly, if they're so good in the first place, they should hench it or get a couple more levels quickly for credibility. I don't understand the need some people have of getting past the game on as low-levels as possible.
