Glob of ectoplasm in the FOW!

look at what i found earlier on today while farming in the fissure of woe!
a gold of ectoplasm off the banshee's near the wailing lord.


i dont know if anyone else has got one but i was shocked!

Happened to me once too, I think sanyi can drop an ecto too

Then again, I don't go to FOW that much anymore.

I had one of the ghosts at the wailing lord drop one for me a long time ago.

It's happened twice to me.

I have seen a Shadow Beast drop an ecto.

ive found a storm bow in FOW as well, from banshees i believe as well.

i've never seen an ecto drop, but in the live forest area w/ the banshees and wailing lords, they can drop items usually found in uw - storm bows, eternal bows, sapphires (opposed to rubies usually found in fow) and ectoplasm.

correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe it's because this is the banished wailing lord, banished from UW? i don't remember the exact specs of the quest, but the wailing lords and banshees hang out on the chaos planes in UW, and for some reason, this one as been banished to the Fissure. It would make sense that they would bring along their UW items i suppose =)

well after seeing this, I was pretty much convinced that anything could drop in fow:

I have gotten an ecto, eternal bow, eternal shield, storm bow, and 3 phantom keys from the banshees, all from different runs of course. I have also gotten a storm bow from the ravengers in the bloodstone fen bonus.

I though that this was known for a long time.

Ectoplasm has a chance to drop from all ethereal creatures - banshees, wailing lords (also found in underworld, on the chaos planes), dream riders and smite crawlers. And also on certain creatures like terrorweb dryders, aatxes and grasping darknesses (all underworld).

The only reason people never thought to obtain ectoplasm from fissure is because there are so few ethereal creatures that die and drop loot. to my knowledge only the wailing lord and banshees in the forest. It just made more sense to farm the living crap out of the ice shrine in underworld instead.

But they can also drop eternal shields, bows, storm bows. All the stuff that drops from smite crawlers and the like.

Its not the creatures that give the drops. Its the games droppool that does it. Especially around these special days the droppool is a bit strange. Because there is a pre planned pool of drops it can drop every where. But wen no-one is farming or playing around in the UW or FOW the droppool gets disrupted and you get strange drops and even stranger places.
I even heart one getting a ecto drop in SF. Yes Sorrows Furnace.
