Er... latest news? Francis, MoPain and Barbs have been used with minions since GW 1st came to be... The only reason people stopped using them was the AoE nerf which tossed MoPain out of favor. Now with the latest update MoPain is back and with the introduction of RM, points can now be channelled into Curses for higher damage MoP. I'm currently running:
RM, MoP, Sig of Lost Souls, Animate Bone Horror, Animate Bone Fiend, BoTM, Dark Bond, and Res Sig (or Cap Sig). Works wonderfully.
I've been trying that combo for a while, but since minions do not necessarily go after who you target it can be tough. Any ideas on how to target smarter for PvE?
Someone had a good MoP build here. GoRenewal as elite I believe. I use my MoP more passively. Henchies follow your target so getting physicals is one way you can make use of the smart targeting. Minions are a bit unpredictable. But generally MoP isnt the 1st thing you cast anyway, you gotta wait for the foes to position well and then you can see which target your minions are attacking, which target is most likely to do the most AoE, that kinda stuff.
As for the build I'm running:
Death Magic- 16, rest split between Curses and Soul Reaping (Currently running 10 and 10 I believe), whatever few points left put in Blood
[skill]Reaper's Mark[/skill]
[skill]Signet of Lost Souls[/skill]
[skill]Mark of Pain[/skill]
[skill]Animate Bone Horror[/skill]
[skill]Animate Bone Fiend[/skill]
[skill]Blood of the Master[/skill]
[skill]Dark Bond[/skill]
I play MM myself, and I have Olias play SS, but I also have him take Mark of Pain and Barbs, since Barbs got a buff and reduced the recharge to 5 seconds.
Mark of Pain is awesome on mobs while Barbs is great on single targets.
By playing MM myself and letting Olias use the curses, I can run 16 death myself and run 16 curses on Olias.
