New dye experimenting

With the new colors added and the changes to the dye system. Has anyone experimented with gold dye mixing? I’m at work at the moment but I plan to start experimenting with gold color dye mixing this weekend. I am curious if with the new dye system you can get a more realistic gold color. The white dye should help with creating gold but I don't care to spend the money on white dye experimenting if someone has already tried.

I've tried making gold colours but they all seem to turn out like tan or light brown. In fact all mixes turn out quite dull.

Try brown + silver + orange. That's my best attempt at gold dye yet.

AFAIK the best gold dye is yellow+yellow+yellow+blue

I *think* I used to use Green + Orange + Silver + ... something else possibly a second Silver or maybe a Yellow. I'll give it a go sometime with the new system.

they must have changed the dye colors a slight bit. i had blue+blue+green on my mesemer before the update. when i went to change the color of my mask after the update i added blue+blue+green again, and its a different color than the one pre-update.

The best gold dye: mix yellow + silver and orange + silver

I used to use green + orange + 2x silver, it worked really well.

If you were dying an armor with a metallic base (ie: warrior armor) you could substitute a dye remover for the second silver. The dye remover added alpha channel to the mix (ie: transparency) the result looked really hot.

I'm sort of bummed that dye remover doesn't exist any more, I really liked being able to dye shields with a transparent shiny color.

Anyone stock up on dye remover? Or were they completely removed from the game?

I just played around with the dye preview window a bit, a nice gold seems to be 2x silver + orange + (green OR yellow) - mod to taste.

Surely there couldn't be a better gold dye than the one posted here

I can't find the window where you can preview your dyes

You will get the preview window when you try to dye your armor/weapon/off-hand item.
