Chests no longer drop same color?

Hi, maybe this is old news, but I just noticed that chests no longer drop the same color? Someone else getting gold doesn't guarantee gold anymore when you open the chest. Anyone else notice this? I just noticed this while doing the Abaddon's Mouth mission.

Um yeah mil it's been around since the 10/25 update. Even says in there.

The Oct. 27th update (I believe) stated that 'chest drop rarity is now correctly randomized' - or something to that effect. Sure enough, that is what it was talking about. I've seen a gold drop from a chest that just dropped a grape, and vice-versa. Never a sure deal anymore.

yep, now chests drop over 75% purples, so chestrunning is nerfed.. chests like hell's principe were overfarmed anyway.

Dang, that sucks. Oh well, I don't chest farm, so I just noticed it >.<

Ive also just recently started getting golds to drop from Non-High End chests.

Ive only had purples since the update.

I've had one purple and one gold.

i never had a gold chest drop
just purples.....

I noticed it when i was completing the last missions with my necromancer. since then i've gone out to perdition rock with just henchies and clear the map and open all the chests (usually 5). did this a few times and on average was getting 2-3 golds per trip. got myself some nice gold caster weapons and bows. haven't done this recently though as i bought nightfall and have been tryin to make progress there.. i'm still in Istani though.

Yeah, I did a chest run the otehr day and got only purples out fo 5 chests... I always brings keys and grab all chests possible anywhere.. It's been about 1 for 5 now.. Used to be about 50/50.

hm, a new reason NOT to buy keys, thanks anet! Now I can save money up for all those new nightfall skills and crummy looking armor. (and new runes, and insignias......)

I was just wondering about that! Are keys still worth it anymore?

Nope you have a better income selling the keys to the merch.

I have seen some purples with some nice mods on them. Not to mention that there's the inscriptions now. I never ran chests before so I guess I am not missing much in that department. But I have always carried 2 or 3 keys for while I am questing through the game. I have only been disappointed on two maybe three times. Last night I got a purple feathered longbow, not max damage, but it had an Zealous mod and a max inscription for in stance so to me that was worth the key. IMHO.

I actually have had quite good luck with some chest locations in Elona...It gave me ~7 golds in a row..then gave me 3 purples, then another gold and continued that pattern basically, never giving me more than 2-3 purples per 1-2 Gold drops.

I get mostly golds and see no changes >.> i dunno i think chest running on a monk if GL ^^
