Sorry if this is the wrong spot for this but..

It *looks* like these guys should be a good source of gems for the 5k armor. Has onlyone seen a gem drop from them or gotten a gem off a ruby dagger or some such?

I've salvaged about 3 daggers so far and killed a bunch of djinns so far with only dust to show for it.

Same here, expert salvage on 5 or 6 Essence of Sapphire (drops from Sapphire Djinns) yielded dust. Never seen a gem drop so far

I imagine they will be like the jade brotherhood in factions that use to drop a jade chunk on a very rare occasion.

same, i got a couple of essences salvaged into dust. I havn't seen a gem drop in elona.

I salvaged a diamond from Jeweled Daggers. I have no idea how rare that salvage is.

I have not seen the Djinns yet as I am taking my time going through the game with a new toon. Though I would imagine that it is like mrcake has stated that it is a rare instance where they will drop them I bet.

Though must say that I was shocked to get a sapphire drop from a Am Fah Assassin after the update. I was farming the area south of the marketplace to get materials and got that drop.

i think diamond is a new drop without a use yet, much like rubies and sapphires had no use until NF, i could be completely off, but thats just my guess.

But yea, I was hoping for the same thing. I think it's like the amber weapons where it may say (rare material) Weapon, but you don't actually GET said rare material.

the same thing stands for Ecto and that crappy demon poo....
if you are lucky you can salvage it

lol, that is one of the biggest untrue myths in the game (next to there being a working Gwen quest)

Hmm, I killed some diamond djinns and one of them dropped a salvage item(i cant remember what it's called).
I salvaged it with a expert salvage kit, but i only got 12 glittering dust..
Maybe that could be salvaged to diamond?

I got a diamond from (expert) salvaging a pair of jeweled daggers, it was white, and not even max dmg. And a friend of mine got a ruby from salvaging a ruby djinn essence.

The first djinn a killed dropped me a ruby dagger. I salvaged it and i got a ruby from it ^^. But it was the only time i got this from djinns.

Yes, just like Amber and Jade stuff, Ruby/sapp/diamond stuff can rarely salvage into the gems.

For the essences...I think people have said its like 1 in 50 chance.
