Only 'bout 40h to go ^^ Think i will try the spears tomorow.. getting 2 scyth groups going this late on a friday is proving a bit of a chore.
Just cant stop them chasing after my monk

Hope i have better luck with spears tomorow!!

Spawning limit is eight, per group. So your best bet is to use a build that can tank eight of them at once, and not break a sweat.
Use a life bond/life barrier hero to keep the tank alive, and hide the monk where it can't get hit.
With those enchants maintained, the overspawning won't be an issue.

The best way to do this is use a hero that can do good area damage, but not TOO powerful.
The R/N build provided by Juicey (which he got from another player) works nicely, and I tested out if D/R can do the same, and with some damage output adjustments, it seems to work fine.
The idea is to slowly (but not too slowly) damage massess of enemy, continuously.

I tried it out, and they didn't move an inch, so I kept it in the build. If I need them to get hit for my ene regen while I'm setting up the enchants, I disalble it temporary.

Hope i have better luck with spears tomorow!! Scythe to Spear point gain ratio seems to be 10:9.
Meaning, 1 group of R/N can get 500/h from a group of Scythes, and 450/h from a group of Spears.
For sacrificing 10% gain, you are almost guarnteed a safe and easy farming.
That's why I perfer the Spears.

I seem to like Scythes much better than Spears, they're much easier to pull to the Rangers.

The shrine is so much more effective when you trap the baddies IN the mouth and not the hill...

Monk + Return + Bodyblock /w Warrior = Scythes Perma-trapped

I don't know why, but noone has suggested Essence Bond on thier monks.

Healing Light + Divine Boon > Glimmer

Regardless, ignore my pointage in that pic, it's a bit old. Gonna try this ranger thing everyone is talkin about. Apparently, it works O.o

I use essence bond like was suggested in juiceys post.

Finally managed to get 2 groups of spears on the go, more to do with manging to get them far enough away from the shrine so i could split them without worrying about the other getting aggroed by first group.

Thanks, everyone who posted these tips. I tried with the scythes and found it too hard to get them setup just right, but the spears are MUCH easier.

I have idled for about 16 hours using the spears, I got about 12K points(there was some time where I wasnt farming them). And thats just in a day. The spears are sooo easy, you dont even have to body block. I just set my rangers an equal distance from my monk, and I set the monk out of aggro range, but in casting range and they have never gone for the monk, in about 13-14hours of overall farming.

Today - r5(was r2 yesterday)

Tomorrow - r7(hopefully higher)

To those who are having trouble setting it up, look on page 15 and use the tactic aohige posted. ALOT easier.

why do you guys not use necro/monks or necro/x as farmers?
this way, you can squeeze more enchantments into your build, or whatever fits your need best.

also, take disease instead of poison, it automatically spreads to all torments. this way, you can give your necro an offhand item and an +5 axe instead of that scythe. it works very well -5 degen from disease is just right for having constantly 7 torments on you. for the little exra punch read on:

take vocal minority, to lower the spears damage even more, and prevent them from selfhealing with chants.
a necro has no problems at all dealing with the damage, the bonds suck it all up.

for even more safety (lags etc, i dunno) i gave my monk symbiosis. this way the farmer has about 1000 health. (farming spears only, doing this while farming scythes is not very productive^^)

for the little extra kills:
take holy wrath and retribution and cast it on the farmers. that way, the scythes or spears take more damage while attacking (equals to about 2-4 pips of degen) but as soon as they stop attacking to call to torment, this extra damage stops, giving them enough time to complete the duplication. it works quite well, and speeds up the process quite a bit.
i would recommend this to anyone, who rather takes on one group instead of 2. this way, you get far more than 600 points/h with only one group.

I was wondering earlier. Since Apply Poison + Well of Suffering is slightly too potent. Why not use Rotting Flesh on its own instead? You'd keep them all at a -6 degen, not too strong, not too weak.
