So what have people picked?

I'm still saving the quest to decide at a later date. (The only easy choice is that my Elementalist will pick Jin)

Sousuke with the proper skills is a beast. I mean literally just incredibly nasty. If you never want your enemies to ever get a chance to cast take Sousuke

I want a do over. As usual I just clicked stuff without knowing I had only one choice only. Ah well. I learned my lesson to always read before clicking.

You'll be able to get both eventually, so it's not a life-changing decision. Just pick whatever compliments your build more. You also get both an elementalist and a ranger later on the game, so at most they can be used as an alternate.

The ranger (jin) has the same interrupt reflexes the enemies in this game does (can interrupt one second casts easy).

I've set her up as a ranger/mes with mostly interrupts. It's neat watching a mob try and cast a bunch of spells/skills in a row and none of them work - especially on the healers and nukers

OTOH, during the preview I picked the Ele simply because you can finally take one out in a mission and not have firestorm cast immediately. The only way an ele is ever useful under computer control is when you can control the spells they use.

For me, the interrupts were WAY better. It's better reflexes than any human and you now have a pretty good deal of control (I noticed that under their fine control menu you can tell them to lock focus on your current target no matter what - GREAT for interrupting a caster while the rest of us go after the rest).

I was planning on getting the nuking Sousuke, but found that I picked Jin for my Paragon. Oh well, at least I can use Jin in pretty much the same way I use my Tyrian Ranger...as a Barrager/Interrupter. My Elonian Ranger will definently pick Sousuke soon enough.

Haha, I picked Jin because I wanna see if she grows out of that esoteric "I just don't give a F&@#." attitude. My desision was totally non-tactical.

I chose Jin because Sousuke annoyed me. Eventually you'll be able to get any and all heroes you missed out on. So don't sweat it.

I saw mention in the Gamespot article that you would eventually have access to all the heroes no matter which you picked during the campaign but I haven't seen any mention of it since then. Is this confirmed yet? Is there someone out there with all 12 heroes available on one character?

I'll trade you my Heroball containing Sousuke for yours with Jin. Haven't been able to make Sousuke an effective hydromancer yet.

As an aside - not sure how there was confusion that you could only pick one Hero at the time considering the cutscene beforehand dedicated to telling you just that.

TBH I just can't get hooked on Rangers. I took Sousuke just because I can't get used to the regular Ranger.

With the random ass build I have on Sousuke though, it's pretty crazy.

Thanks So, I'm going to butcher every aspect of names and locations doing this, but...

Remember those 2 guys on the docks when you arrived to Kamadan (besides Sousuke and Jin)? The guy whose name started with an H (Hyoko?). Well leave Kamadan through the north portal, and he is standing out there with your two potential Heros. Talk to him and begin the quest that pertains to the Hero you want. After you complete the quest, go back to the docks and talk to him again and you'll have your hero.
