When I kite, so does whole stupid AI party

How could anyone miss this glaring mistake? Do programers even play this game? Any attempt to kite monsters(especially melee ones) is ruined by AI. When I start kiting, the heroes and henchies completely drop whatever they are doing and start kiting too. And heroes have aggressive mode selected AND a target selected. Koss also completely fails to use "None Shall Pass!" to pry attackers off me when I kite. Wardens can use it and he can't. I want them to continue fighting when I kite ffs, unless I kite really far.

So currently I have 2 options. Either I just sit there and take all melee attackers, who decide I am a good target, in the face or I kite but so does my party.

Did you try using the waypoint system? Or do you think you'll whine your way out of your problems?

To the first few posters: when did everyone in the community become such ignorant (insert your own word here)

I tested this outside Kaineng, because it would be a big problem if it occur Maybe it was the fact that I was using a Warrior, but the henchmen seemed to do fine didnt follow me what so ever and went about their business killing the afflicted without me helping

It can be annoying. However, I don't think I want them to touch it. I recall when they broke it last time and you could run two compasses away and your little henchies would be back where you started just hacking away at the enemies, oblivious that you were fleeing. That was some good fun right there.

it is very annoying, i try to kite with my monk and the whole party starts chasing me and i'm just running in circles.

it'd be different if i made a b-line for some other side or something, but with circle-strafing an enemy...the whole party shouldnt disengage

its pretty sad

Let's try to accept that henchmen will never be as good as human players. The only problem I've ever had with henchmen was the "standing around not rezzing glitch."

Play with henchies enough and you'll figure out how to work with their little quirks.

yeah instead of kiting with a monk you just stand there and cast insta-heals on yourself while the group beats on the mob =\

I had the same problem with the heros as well. As soon as i break a target and kite (on my monk) the heros break the target too and run with me. It didn't matter where i placed the flags or what mode they were in or if i had them "locked" on that target. They still broke off and ran along with me. The ACTUAL henchmen seem to stay one a target far longer then the heros do.

The henchmen are leaps and bounds better than they were before, I really don't know what you're on about.

Yes, they run when you kite if you're not using the new controls to your full advantage (they gave you a tutorial on this for a reason ). I've made it to level 15 with my ele, haven't died once and the henchmen have been my only party members. I really haven't had any trouble.

I've run into this with my ranger as well. From what I've seen, this is easily corrected by using the Command Flags and placing them behind your henchmen's/Heroes' battleline, but close enough that your spellcasters can still hit their targets. Keep them in Aggresive Mode! I've yet to have them disengage when I kite, as long as the Command Flags are in place.

I've already gotten to the point that I use the Command Flags constantly to keep my Henchmen/Heroes exactly where they need to be. You just need to be a better leader if you want your NPC party for do what they need to be doing. Remember, they're dumb! You pretty much need to hold their hands!

I do love the fact that the new AI can combine skills more efficiently! Setting up Koss with my spiking W/N build is a dream come true. He runs it perfectly! I rarely ever have to tell him which skill to use next.

IMO, the combination of the Heroes and the Command Flags makes playing a backline/support character much easier with an NPC party.

If you think it is a bug then post it in the bug report thread.

Further more I prefer my hench AI to be screwed up compared to the monster AI (at least they aren't running anymore even if my henchies are ~_^)

But i did all of that. I think with most classes it's fine the way it is, simply because most classes are attackers and typically can stay trained on a target. As a monk, healing the heros and kiting constantly, not targeting/attacking... this is not a good thing at all. I put the heros in aggressive, had them locked and flagged and they would still consistantly break aggro when i would kite a pair of warriors. So yeah for most classes (accept maybe rits and monks) the ai works just as planned.

Who the hell do you think you are? Why don't you just shut up, what is the point of writing stuff like that. Go and play GW and don't read the threads you don't like.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that if they've had their volume on and heard the, what I like to call "Click Wars" that go on as the henchmen cancel all their skills before they finish going off. It's sort of like a musical... *click* *click* *click* *BOOM* (as they die). The only way I've found AROUND this stupid AI is to force them to stand behind me and aggro the enemies and lead them back to them, that way everyone is standing still. Even then, once they start their Chicken Run (because you moved a half an inch to the right) it's back to Click Wars. Fun times. Fun times...
