What? You can't play with pre-order key?

This is stupid. My CE has not arrived and it looks like it will come after weekend. No Nightfall before that. You could play with Factions but I guess Anet likes to torment those who are unlucky and blocked access. No more CE versions for me because of this crap.

There's no preorder key for Nightfall.

ANet could have used the Nightfall Pre-release Bonus Pack key in the same manner as the Factions Pre-order key: Just a grace period of a few days to start playing while you wait for your retail key to arrive.

Starting to ship the game the same day that the servers go live wasn't a very smart idea, because it was clear from the start that many customers would receive their keys late.
