I am trying out the assassin out for the first time. Actually I am trying it out because people claim the are not as good as other classes. I have also noticed they seem not picked often for Missions and groups. Up for a challenge I am trying it out myself. So far I think they are great spikers, and great condition appliers. I am 2 levels away from Survivor, so I will play a little cautious and try for the title. I am Assassin / Monk currently and I use the following skills Heeling breeze, Mending, Rebirth, Jagged Strike, Jungle Strike, Death Blossom, Caltrops, and Shadow Refuge. I have max points in dagger mastery and the remainder mixed in Shadow Arts and Healing. My question is has anyone tried the smiting side of a monk with an Assassin? I noticed the neat spell Stonesoal Strike 10-46 dmg and additional 10-46 to knocked down foes, mixed with Horns of the Ox. It could be a good 1,2,3,4 combo. But does anyone know if you have enough time to get the Stonesoal strike in after you knock down the foe?
1 2 3 4 Combo?

you can, since it's 3/4 of a second. it's fast enough. but when i use a monk secondary on my assassin, i'd rather go for protection prayers to mitigate spike damage and afflicted explosions.
and since you're an assassin, your spike damage is enough, especially in pve [a 3 hit attack chain is enough to take down any target]. what you need are your secondary's defensive/utility skills to make up for the profession's lack of them or augment your offensive skills.
my 2 cents. worth a shot though. but i don't really wanna spend gold buying the skills to try it out.
