Question about repeating strike

Hello all, I'm trying to figure something out here. I tried using Way of the Empty Palm with Repeating Strike, but it would never hit. The description says that if it misses, it will take an additional 15 seconds to recharge, but even after missing, I can still use it. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Thanks in advance. BTW, this is with a clean sin without conditions, hexes and the targets don't have any buffs on.

repeating strike must follow an offhand attack. so have you made sure that you used a lead and then an offhand, then way of the empty palm, then repeating strike? or at least an attack that counts as an offhand attack?

I will go out on a limb here, and assume you are trying to:
WotEP (1 second cast time/30 sec recharge)
Lead attack
Off-hand
Repeating Strike (until WotEP is almost expired)
Dual Strike

Try this- go to Isle of the Nameless and try it on an armor target to ensure there are no buffs/enchants, and to know for sure if/when RS misses, and post results.

I have seen ppl use this {E} in other builds, so there shouldn't be a problem with what you are attemptng to do.

Use expose defences to make sure you hit.

I don't play Assassins all that much, but I wanted to build an Assassin good for 1v1 and for RA and had fair success with this build:

A/Any

Dagger 11+3
Deadly 10+1
Shadow 7+1 (Cutoff for +8 health regen for Shadow Refuge)
Critical 7+1+1 (Cutoff for +2 energy on crit)

Golden Phoenix Strike
Repeating Strike
Horns of the Ox
Falling Spider
Shadow Refuge
Shroud of Distress (or another Enchantment)
Way of the Empty Palm {E}
Rez Sig

Before entering combat, put up Shroud of Distress and WoEP. Open with GPS, then hit Repeating as much as possible until WoEP starts to flash (or your opponent gets under 1/4 health). At that point, hit Horns, then Falling. As Falling is an offhand, you can continue to spam Repeating until Horns and Falling recharge, or back off to heal.

The key here is that since all of your attack skills are Offhands or Dual strike, you can continue to combo them forever, going Repeating->Horns->Falling->Repeating->etc and WoEP keeps all of those skills costing 0 energy for 16 out of every 25 seconds. With a Zealous weapon, I was able to keep this combo up almost the entire time, without fear of running out of energy. Shroud and Refuge was enough to keep me alive unless I was being focus fired upon.

In AB, I replaced Rez Sig with Siphon Speed.

I appreciate the help folks; I believe I have met my nubcake post quota for the day here. I tried using RS after a lead off attack when it CLEARLY states it has to follow an off-hand attack. Again, I have met my nubcake post and I thank you all. ^_^

In my defense, I had just spent the previous 3 days re-reading the Sin threads, and gotten disgusted with alot of the l33t responses (in general) that had nothing to do with the thread. I was just too tired at the time, and a little too fed up by the time i got here and i took it out on you.
