Black dye farming.

Also the fact that there are no henchies stealing drops and most people are solo and thus get everything that drops helps. My recent trip through netted 3 purples, 1 blue and 1 red. Left at level 8 after completing all quests.

Oh and just outside Ascalon in post a gargoyle dropped a silver for me.

I initially had 5-6 blacks but also spent a lot of time in pre- as I was trying out different professions and getting to know the game. Since those first couple of months in April-May '05 I've had one black drop for me.

I've always found that the Nagas in shing jea dropped dyes quite often ( for me, anyhow ). So I spent a day doing quests there with my necro, I ended up finding 2 black dyes and the various junky dyes.

Black dye, all dye in general, drops randomly. There is no specific place where the black dye drop ratio is better or worse.

Anyone who says otherwise is mistaken as it all boils down to chance.

I got a black dye in Iron Mines of Moladune. ^^ By a White mantel.

In 15 months of playing Guild Wars i got 4 black dyes. 1 just outside Old Ascalon and 3 from farming Trolls outside Droknar's Forge. Farming in the pre-searing didn't bring me any black dye.

But isn't black dye about making money, so you can afford it? Only last month i picked up farming Trolls outside Droks, after reading a article on farming somewhere on this forum. While waiting for Nightfall and bored with Prophecies and Factions, i took op farming. In just 1 month i made over 200K, got 3 black dyes and numerous gold items. I never got so much money before (after selling a green item from Sorrow's Furnace and a rune of superior vigor i had 100K).

So my advice is, read some more on the forum and look for a way to make money with your characters. The article i read was http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10038096. It helped me alot!

I have found over 40 black dyes most in pre searing well 23 in pre-searing and the rest in alot of different spots. Had two drop while doing thirsty river. found one while queen farming . found 10 durning the dragon festival.

It is very random where and when they drop . Or I am just supper lucky on black dyes. Yet none of my characters have anything with black dye go firgue.
But farming anywhere in either land can get you black dyes.

In around 20 runs of Vermins, got 2 black dyes

The grawls around Ruins of Surmia, give me around 3 or 4 during Winter Event (i think was this event).

Got some more on other places but no more then 1 per place.

I've seen about 8 black dyes drop so far (only played for 3 months heh)

4 in pre
3 in ToPK
1 in the mission before sanctum cay (forget what its called)

ive gotten about 30- black dyes from pre as im going for the LDoA title agina with one of my chars lol. i let my frined play one of my chars while i was trying for the title and he left O.o he has never touched my GW ever again :P....

i should try the undead thing though...im going with a dervish hopefully im using the d-smite build that every did during the nightfall preview

I got a bunch of dye farming gargoyle skulls outside Serenity Temple during the Wintersday festival.

I think a couple were black.

As for Vermin farming, don't count on the black dyes there, I've gotten one in the 100+ runs I've done, and this is a few runs in succession, to not trigger the anti-farm code.

Has ANet changed Kryta so people won't farm? I don't see the hellhounds that trigger the event anywhere near oink or anywhere else. Been through a good part of the mission looking for it, and nothing. Is there a map posted anywhere? Thanks!

Where exactly do the most black dye drops occur in pre-searing? i would like to farm them.

A little fun tip for anyone with an Ele looking to farm Kryta..

Arcane Echo + Savannah Heat + A Water Magic Snare >>> Them.. easily.

Gates of Kryta = bone farming.

Yeah, it's "nerfed" but I managed to get 600 bones off it in a few runs. While bones don't sell for much, they are used in crafting things. That will help save you some gold when you run off to make Primeval Armor for your warrior.

I wonder if there is a way to farm this with a 55...i've been trying and i cant figure a way to negate all that dmg without evadeing or blocking it, thusly making SoJ useless...

(figured it would be more efficient useing a 55 to farming this than a axe slinging wammo... >.< but i can only get the first big 'event' to trigger..cant get the other 2.)
