Black dye farming.

I'd guess the Undeads in the Gates of Kryta Mission. If you trigger a certain event first, you will get a HUGE load of enemies. Think along the lines of 40-50 Undead plus you can afterwards go and kill another 20 Undeads. All in the matter of roughly 5 Minutes. Each run nets you 1 Plat and lots of Dyes.
A build is easy enough to come up with. Insert Judges Insight, insert Strength of Honor and just Cyclone / Triple Chop through the undead. Each hit deals roughly 150-200 damage and kills the horde in seconds.

Hmmm. I might have to see that 'event' as well. I swear, in my entire carrerr of GW, which spans back into the Prophecies closed beta's, I only had maybe 5 black dyes drop for me ever.
Incidentaly, mind telling me which event this is and how to trigger it?
Also, wouldn't a smite monk handle it effectively? And if I'm right, I need to work on one, other than 55.

I think your friend should maybe write something about this and make up a topic or something.
Orly ? People did this already 10-12 months ago(longer maybe), its been nerfed to shit and not worth it.

the area in question used to be a back door to the end on the mission, you could finish it in a matter of a few minutes, the has since been blocked, but if you kill a nearby grasp an entire army of undead show up, I used to train my pets there to get them dire easily.
To get there go to oink and look at the nearby house, there is a pathway behind this house just follow it along.

Well.
You enter the Gates of Kryta Mission, fire up your enchantments and head out. After a few seconds two krytan peasants will come running to you and scream for help. Meh, you don't care. But you certainly do care about the undead they bring. Kill them and make sure to kill the follow up group as well.
This basically triggers the "event" the first time.
Now just as someone has said, head for oink but leave him where he is (though he IS an invincible tank so maybe bring him if you're taking too much hits :P). Walk past the small building and head downwards. You'll see a lonely Hell Hound and 4 Ghoul Popups. Kill them as well and this starts the whole horde. Within seconds there will be dozens of undead swarming you from all sides.
Mow the lawn with your smiting and then head to the direction where the Warlocks came from. Ignore the bugged AI Creatures and kill a few more undead but make sure to let one patrol coming from the swamp pass unharmed. As soon as they reach the bugged AI, another huge mob of undead will spawn for you to kill.
And third, if you feel like "ignoring obstacles" you can easily walk through the Tree blocking the path by clicking an enemy behind it (or if you brought Oink, he will just run through it anways).
/edit:
The one near the first spawn of enemies. The one that now "blocks" the shortcut to the mission.
Ignore the boss and head a bit through the swamp. Woosh, undead horde number 3 spawns and runs right into your wide open smiting arms.
Ah well another dye location are the minotaurs in front of the ice tooth cavern. There is plenty of them and they love to drop dyes but i have yet to see a black dye drop coming from them. Silver is quite common with them though.
Enjoy.
Note: I haven't farmed this for a few months. I've only tried it twice with Triple Chop after the Factions Release so this information MIGHT be outdated by now.

Try it first, then diss it.
It was asked for Dye Drops, not for the uber money drops. Though the money accumulates for the sheer amount of quantity. Gates of Kryta is something to do to make your Farmcode cool down a bit and for the fun of it.
Besides, gold drops are around 30-50 and not 13 pieces. As i said, roughly 1 Plat per run which is quite fast to do. It's not the most profitable run but has (maybe had) high chances on dye drops.

This basically triggers the "event" the first time. i've been farming this area off an on with my Ele/Mes since the begining, and i have never bothered to kill the undead chasin the peasants. i've always ignored them and ran straight to the undead behind oink's house and get a good 20-30 undead popping up with 3 warlocks.
now, does kill the groups of undead following those peasant trigger even MORE undead behind the house?
try running straight to the undead behind the house without killing the undead behind the peasants and see if you see a difference in the number of undead there.
