This requires gwonline.net account. But here's the link Gaile left comment on both pages, so look for them. I'm not sure if it's appropriate to link to outside forums in here. Please delete my post if that's the case. I just think this will calm a lot of people down

For the lazy people...
From Gaile:
"Hey, there,
I've passed this along to the Network Team and I am sure they have been tracking this. If there is any information to share I will let you know.

From Alex Weekes (NCsoft Europe):
"Please do know that your efforts *are* appreciated, very much.
Also, for those commenting on the responses from the support team: please be patient with the system. It works the way it does for a reason. We have a lot of data gathered over long periods of time, and the system is continually being refined. While for some players it may seem that initial responses are irrelevant to them, or overly rudimentary, or perhaps not paying attention ... that's not the case. The system is there and worked through in the way it is because, quite simply, the *vast* (I can't stress that enough) majority of tickets are solved with the first response, and if not the first then usually the second.
You can help both the support team and yourself by remaining patient and working htrough the steps as requested by the people dealing with your ticket. Not doing so can result in your ticket taking significantly longer to result in a solution and will be a much less satisfactory experience for both you and the member(s) of staff you deal with. Yes, we've had cases where someone has insisted the problem must be the servers and refused to carry out a request and then when they finally did try what was asked the problem was immediately solved.
Anyway, point I'm trying to make: the quickest way to get a resolution (even though it may not seem like it at first) is to simply be patient and perform any tests, changes, monitoring that support asks of you.
And of course, the quickest way to alert our teams of any potential issues, especially related to connectivity, is to report it via the support interface on the website. Post #40 in this thread is an excellent resource."
From Gaile again
"Yes, I agree with you that we should all make an effort to do so. Not just ArenaNet but NCsoft, too. We have 24-hour network support, obviously. What I'd like to do is ask if there is a means by which people on the Support Team can update our Network News page when situations arise like this without having to wake up a Web Team member. If we were plumbed to do that, we could put up and take down notices much more efficiently. However, I don't know if that (1) feasible and (2) something that we want to enact. We may prefer to wake up the Web Team.
Seriously, though, another thing I want to do is put a link to the Network News page right on the main page. I don't want people to have to dig into the site to find out what's up. I want them to plink "Network News" and learn the info immediately.
Thirdly, it's been a dream of mine for many months to have an indicator on the main page, a "new" flag or a sparkly or something like that, that will show everyone "Hey, there's something new on this page -- go read it!" Combined with moving a link to Network News to the front page, that would make it very easy to keep up to date on these sorts of issues, rare as they might be. (It also would allow us to let you know about planned outages, like the upgrade to the Support system that took place yesterday. It was posted on Network News, but I doubt if more than 2 people saw it, because the game wasn't impacted.)
Anyway, this is just by way of letting you know we are working to make the information flow in both directions better and more productive. Thanks for your comments and help with nailing down this particular incident -- it's being investigated even as I type.
