Getting a little frustrated

Starting saturday morning i started having some trouble, the game would play fine for 15-20 seconds...then freeze for 15-20 seconds...saturday night it just seemed to stop, finished up clearing FoW with a good PuG around 3, and hit the sack. Woke up sunday morning only to find it doing it again...so I did all my computer maintence stuff, defragging and such...continued doing it...its done it all day and is still doing it now. My computer runs GW perfect at the highest setting and never had an issue before.
So someone said it was the NF preview...its now 7:37 pm EST and Ive re-installed GW...still doing it...Its even doing it on the log-in screen....will work perfect for 10-15 seconds...then freeze for 10-15 seconds...

WTF is up with it?

dude guild wars is dying. that is the stopping of the perverbial heart...

honestly though dude. gw serverside is causing about 60 percent of the lagg and disconnects now.

i to have a problem and can now no longer play after they installed the nightfall update. i get error sevens about every 10 minutes.

just quit playing guild wars dude. honestly save yourself the hasstle.. cause all you will get here is people saying that "they never have any lagg and have never been disconection" and they imply that its your fault.

so before any mods or anything try to get you to reeboot your pc.. dont.. its not your fault. its server side and it WILL NOT get better

It played fine for me pre-nightfall event...so Im hoping its still something from that...if not, Ill try playing it on another PC...although this would be my best setup to game on. I can say that its gotten better, Ive frozen for 10seconds or so in the past 30 minutes...maybe too many people still online? I dunno...Ill wait it out...

Its a common thing after a major event like the WPE... the servers are extra taxed streaming updates to everyones gw.dat. after a day or two when everyone has their streams updated its normally fine...

The same thing happened when Factions went live... Everyone was downloading the game via stream INSTEAD of loading the cds that came with the game. And that caused Massive lag for the first week or so. Unless you were like me and way out in the map ahead of others... Heck every town I got to the first day of the game was basically empty. I had to wait for people to get caught up to be able to play on some of the maps. especially the Temple and Palace...

The same will be true of Nightfall. If everyone just used their install CDs first and update from there, then there would not be a problem... But they dont. they enter their key and expect the game to load the next gig or so for them. Resulting in massive lag for everyone else...

When you say 'freeze', do you mean the entire game stops responding (total lockup)? Or is it a network drop, where the character can rotate and you can manipulate the UI, etc, but you can't actually move anywhere?

If it's a total lockup, than it's not a network issue, it's a client issue. Just trying to clarify the problem here...

And the first one to say it's because of my computer will be eating my modem...

Here is how it's going for me: I log in, I play for 15 seconds, my character freezes for 15 seconds, and I get the boot. This has happened to me non-stop. If anyone from Arenanet is reading this I will let you know right now that I am very pissed off and will NOT be purchasing Nightfall if this is not fixed VERY soon. Do not expect me to pay $50 for a game I can't play.

At first i thought that was another europe-only problems (as so many in the past) but i see some usa player complaining about the same problem i have (since tonight).

IMO you just talk a lot of BS... 1st of all Nightfall hasnt been released, so the current lag and error7 dont have a relation with this.

2nd by the time Nightfall is in the shop you probably already have the full game on your HDD (even when you dont buy the game). When you install the game from cd you probably have to download more files, because the contents of the cd is already outdated (i think the cd's are already pressed). With the Faction release i entered my key, had to download apx 5mb and i was ready to play.

I love A-Net honestly. But when it comes to lag and there support...lets just say that my internet company gets the job done faster. Its not me and i know that. I played my other online games(aoe3) and they work fine, so does my internet. In other words..

FIX IT A-NET!!!

the game is unplayable, and it isnt me. I wish for once someone from anet would come in here and say its our fault, instead they blame this or that, have me run rediculous tests that all come back fine.

BTW, I checked the network update page and there are no issues atm.

Thanks guys, at least I know its not just me...and with my problem, Ill play for 15-20 seconds...then it will freeze (lag) for 15-20 seconds...then it will be playable again for another 15-20 seconds...then freeze again...and on and on and on...

Don't expect ANET to fix anything soon, just like the sound issue they've buried their heads in the sand.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! "guild wars is dying" ? Oh come ON. we've all heard this a million times then everything gets better then 2 months later there is another 3 day slow period and the sky is falling again.

I've been getting the lag & 7s too but puh-leeez. It's not like this hasn't happend to EVERY ONLINE GAME IN THE UNIVERSE.

I'm experiencing this problem as well. Every 5-10min of gameplay results in freezing and then err7. Why isn't it affecting everyone? Many are gvging etc w/o a problem...

Holy crap! I'm having the same problem! I'll be able to play for 5 minutes and then everyone on screen stops, I can't move but i can rotate my character then i get booted and i get the error 7. Its really pissing me off, I'm almost tempted to quit and Go buy WoW.
(they almost certainly have issues to, but at least i can get to level 60)

ah... i created another post about this issue.. seems like a lot of people are having issues. I hope Anet would fix this soon.

I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing the lag problems that I am, but I am only experiencing the lag while observing a game in observer mode. I rarely can get past 5 minutes into a game before I get an err 7 and disconnect.

The rest of the game is fine for me, it's just being in observer mode that is messed up right now.
