Thanks for the heads up + guide, mapped it today It would be quite the shortcut with a full team of NT and one dedicated saccer, since you could cut over to where the last group of enemies are sitting there waiting to die behind gates near the divine path

do u think that using recall on an ally who is under the bridge would teleport me up there?

I must really suck because I tried this like 10 times with the henchie group mentioned and was unable to get the aggro to the door....I must be missing something.

ADDED: You don't suck, you just aren't doing it right. Please see all the posts (Including mine) it will explain how. - RTS

isnt that what I wrote???? I am not doing it right.....and I have rererereread the thread.....I am having a blonde moment, ok? and I cant seem to get the aggro (and the henchies) to do what I want....oh well.

.1 for me, I just got to 99.0. I thought I had botched the try, the warrior tried to run away, and got a little off the center but I was still behind the door and NT'd through it to where he was, and I still made it. Many thanks

Guild Wars uses a very weird system for their Y-axis. (X-axis is left to right - Y-axis is up and down - for readers not familiar)

Some say that GW does not have a Y axis at all, which is why you can be under or over a bridge and get hit by melee fighters who are either above or below you, however I think this trick proves that false.

GW does indeed have a Y-axis, it just doesn't apply to the mob's attacks, or it's skin.

I believe that instead of having each object having it's own place on the Y axis, as is done with most VGs, that it simply designates different levels of the map to a place on the Y axis, and each mob on that level will remain on that spot of the Y axis, no matter where it goes. The skin itself will move up and down the Y-axis as the mob goes up and down a hill, but the actual game object will remain in the same spot on the Y-axis.

This is shown when enemy warriors attack you from below or above you on a bridge. The skin of the mob looks to be on a different level (above or below you) but the actual game object is either considered to be on the same plane as you on the Y-axis, or they are on a different level, but they can still attack you because their spot on the axis does not affect their attack range, thus as long as the mob is close enough to you on the X-axis, it will be able to hit you.

Now in the case of Raisu palace, it looks as if the mobs that are up the stairs to the next level are actually one level above you on the Y-axis. So when you lure them back to the gate, even though their skin has followed you down, the actual game object of the mob is still considered to be on that same spot, one level up on the Y-axis. Thus when you kill it, the game object of the mob's body is actually positioned on the bridge above the gate. Thus when you travel to it, the game shifts you one level up on the Y-axis, and you can then enter the places you couldn't before.

If attack ranges were restricted to the Y-axis then those mobs would not be able to attack you in melee, once you lured them back to the gate.

When you use recall and return, you are transporting yourself to an object that is on the same level as you on the Y-axis, which is one level below the bridge, thus you can't get on to the bridge with it as it isn't displacing your position on the Y-axis.

I’m not sure what the PC’s placement is on the axis. It could be that a PC’s game object does move up and down the Y axis, or it might be a case that doing the necro travel simply displaces your spot on the Y-axis one level up, and that’s where you then stay.

I could be wrong, but it does seem like the logical explanation.
