Free Fantasy Color Webcomic: Catspaw

Catspaw is written by John C. Hocking, author of Conan and the Emerald Lotus (one of the best Conan pastiches IMO). And it is illustrated by me, Storn A. Cook. I'm a big Guild Wars lover, and I think some of the aesthetic of Guild Wars has rubbed off on me.

John and I are trying to bring back a sense of adventure, sword and sorcery and decidedly old school approach. It is odd and wonderful that with brand new technologies of the internet, wacom tablets, photoshop... I think Catspaw most resembles Prince Valiant in structure. So, decidedly old school.

The story concerns a young ambassador swept up into dangerous intrigues. Along with her scruffy bodyguard.

The link below will take you to Sword and Sorcery's main page, click on the large Catspaw button and that will bring you to the beginning. If you HAVE been following Catspaw, there is a link that will take you to the latest page. There is a new page ever Wednesday.

ooo, great comic

Well done... i hope the story turns a bit more imersive(? im portuguese i cant know it all but i think this is the word) but its a very good work. Your drawing are like fast draw stile, i like it.

Good luck from now on, ill keep reading here

Edit: forgot to mention the colors, i like them VERY mch, they give an epic ancient stile... i rly like it.

Blazing, thank you for your comment. I think it will become more immersive. A lot of what John and I are doing is riffing off our love of Pulp and Noir writing.... so we are trying to get that vibe in before we get to the meat of the story.

but we are just a few pages from meeting the bad guy and the story really starts to build at that point.

I also do table top roleplaying. These are sketches done while we gamed Friday night. They are not meant to be works of art, just quickie interpertations of a personalities.

Here are two supporting cast NPCs from our Prime Time Adventures game: Lions at the Gate.

I've been lax in updating people on the latest pages of Catspaw. Been fighting colds, deadlines and such.

However, today, page 15 of Chapter 2 has gone up, concluding Chapter 2.
