Gloom Shield

Is there anyone who knows which foes in UW drops this kind of shields , have heard some rumors about smits.
Anyone who can confirm this!!!

well i got one from a chest there in the ice area.
Doing a lot of runs there, haven't seen a smite or coldfire drop one.

Udul if you whish you can pm when in game to got to Uw , im very exp necro and there is many noob monks tiered of it.

My partner had one drop from a coldfire i think but it was a few weeks back now.

Coldfire , uhmm , me and my monk friend try to avoid them cos of bad drops lol.

So any creature in UW is able to drop it???? Been farming the UW to bits, even trying to ge the to the pits and chaos planes since we get no shield drop in the first areas

To be honest, I haven't seen very many of these shields for sale in the marketplace districts since their inception. I wonder if ANet needs to tweak the droprate a little on these?

I think its gd that they drop so little like now. Many of items drop like crazy and its not so special like before.
Personally i want one for my warrior but its kinda hard to get one and ppl are asking alot of money for em.

i've been on two duo runs where a gloom came up, for the other guy
in both cases the shield was a chest drop within the Ice Wastes. since the update before NF it's anyone's guess about drop location. sweet skin imo

....... I got a Gold one from a smite... (req 9, perfect)

They look really nice and are really rare, its the first time a got that shield in any form.

Got 2 in UW. Both come from chests.

Before the update I use to kill some of the coldfires in specific locations, just to be easy to join a great group of smites, never get a gold drop from them.

Chests drop loot from the mobs around them. The reason ectos and UW items can be found in the ToPK has nothing to do with the ToPK itself, it has to do with the Terrorweb Dryders and Banished Dream Riders, both UW mobs, in the zones.

They're very rare drops from mobs as it is, as I believe they can only drop rare. Therefore the likelihood of random loot rolling to be gold, and then to be a Gloom Shield is relatively small... as for what they drop from (besides chests), any mob in the Ice Wastes would be a good start
