Solo Shiro?

Someone said in another thread that the mes can solo shiro. I am probably going to be there a little later today and rather than deal with the hassle of trying to get into a group, figured I would give the solo a try. If the boast is true, anyone have a build? I was thinking something along the lines of blackout/diversion or other shutdown and empathy/renewing insecurities for dmg.

Empathy will be countered by Scars. You will get hit hard, conditions on Shiro don't last long enough.

Your only counter to meditation is potentially running very far away - you don't really have that much damage to fight him with.

Gonna need proof on that claim or it's all made of straw.

I got Shiro down to half health solo before, but then I ran out of energy. Im sure I could do it if I really tried. He is immune to Blackout/Diversion/Psychic Distraction etc.

Ive seen the thread you are referring to but Im pretty sure it wasn't a "Mesmer" only to defeat Shiro.

IMO the best bet against Shiro is a Warrior with something like Eviserate.... In my opinion a Mesmer would be quite tough to solo him with but Im sure it can/has been done before.

If I were you, I'd get a guildy to help you, and dual him with henches. That should pretty much do the trick.

Good luck! He's really a piece of cake but the damn teleporting is VERY frustrating.

In that thread someone was retorting to someone else and said "FYI, a mesmer can solo him" Of course they gave no proof, build or otherwise, that's why I came here.

He is very easy, and I have beaten him on 4 characters so far. It really shouldn't be that hard to get into a group there for any class as they all do very well and if everyone just bum rushes him, he is done for. I have been running as a speed nuker through the missions so far to get into groups a little easier on my female mes. Just wondering how tough it is to get into a group for shiro. If not I can always sneak in with some guildies that are of the "Desired" classes.

Hopefully I'll get my armor tonight. Just have to make it through Grove, Unwaking, Raisu and Shiro. Went all the way from Nahpui to Grove last night before going to bed.

Got it done about an hour ago with some breaks in between. Didn't even try to solo him.
Went with the not so original black. I tried a few other variations (R+O looks nice)

What did that have to do with soloing Shiro?

I have never heard anyone say anything about soloing shiro. I am guessing you could with a mesmer using massive degen and using energy tap and such to keep your energy up. But then again i dont play as a mesmer.

Well I tried to use it on Shiro when he was meditating and the second he got the Deep wound he ended he meditation ... Done it 3 or 4 time in a row, alway worked nice ...

I have no ideas how to solo him but DW is definitly a answer to Shiro meditation ^^.

What about a IW/SV build? Don't know not tried yet, obviously the 55 version is a no no although some of the skills may come in useful PS essence Bond?

Oh yeh sry Cherno you wasted on that, minging!! Get yourself a prophecies 15k set.

Maybe you could stack degen on him and run around until he went into medi, shatter PP for wound and then run around some more?

You could try Wastrel's Worry spam. On bosses it lasts half duration and therefore you can do 68 every 1.5s -- in addition to anything else you have going (like Empathy, or if you are also using Illusion degen on him, etc.).

According to GuildWiki, the duration of hexes and conditions is not reduced by half on Factions' bosses:

" - In the Prophecies Campaign, Conditions and Hexes last for a reduced span of time on a boss (see Natural Resistance).

- In the Factions Campaign, damage from bosses is doubled. For example, if a Mesmer boss uses Cry of Frustration which deals 46 damage at 16 Domination Magic, the boss deals 92 damage. Also, their skill activation times are halved."

After I read that I started to use Backfire on Factions' spelcaster bosses. They cast spells like crazy and during those 10 seconds they pretty much kill themselves. Sometimes it seems to work on assassins too since they have spells also...

I am thinking mantra of persistence + crippling anguish + images of remorse + conjure phantasm + accumulated pain + energy tap + ether lord + ether feast (15 inspiration and 12 illusion). Constant 10 degen on Shiro would kill him in 315 seconds as long as meditation really does end immediately upon him receiving deep wound.

Shiro does have half hex/condition time, meaning that Wastrel spam works. In fact, you can bring him out of Meditation with that one skill, solo.

Yeah you can deal all the damage you want to Shiro... have fun with battle scars.

I worked it out just a while ago, a blinding flash / prodigy / degen build should be able to take him out with no problem.

Oh, and Life Steal isnt damage, a toucher should be able to do it.

Life steal isn't damage, so you wouldn't be able to take him out of Mediation either

I didn't ever know any of Shiro's immunities I went in with a soul bind/sould barbs/barbs build thinking i could keep him knocked down a lot of the time and my R-spiker and warriors could do extra damage. He can't be knocked down though.

Barbs is still the key to masters IMO though.
