Question about Aura of Faith

I play PvE and recently read about Aura of Faith. I was wondering if anyone used it. I've always had Word of Healing loaded in my skill bar and was thinking that Aura of Faith would "out heal" Word of Healing provided it doesn't get stripped. I guess enchantment removals have always been my biggest fear from straying away from the old tried and true spike heals, but I was just curious to hear peoples thoughts on Aura of Faith.

I guess you posted this a while ago, but here are my thoughts on Aura of Faith.

First of all, you are right that it would be more prone to enchant stripping, but it also cost approximately 3 times as much as Word of Healing (10e for Aura and 5e for whatever you use to heal them with), so that sucks...and the costs get even greater if you need it on more than one person, so again, that sucks.

Ex. 2 people with Aura of faith and Dwayna's Kiss costs you 30e for healing of 120 + DF bonus per person (att lvls of 15 in DF and Heal)
2 people with Heal other costs you 20e for a healing of 180 + DF bonus per person (att lvl of 15 in Heal only)

There are some situations where it could be great, such as if you have an excellent tank who can hold aggro and has other enchants stacked (bonds and whatever else).

Ex Tank with 4 enchants + Aura of Faith + Dwayna's Kiss would net you 240 hlth + DF bonus.

But in a situation like that, where the tank isn't really trying to do lots of dmg, you would be better off maintaining (or having the bonder maintain) Life Attunement for the same hlth gains. Also, you wouldn't have to recast Life Attunement ever, meaning that you can have it stacked near the bottom of the pile of enchants.

So, I guess what I am saying is this: It is much more situational than some other elites, is prone to stripping (frequently near the top of the stack), and is costly. On the other hand, it is a decent alternative to Life Attunement if you are running a Heal/DF based build and don't want to maintain enchants.

IMO, there are too many better elites and it never finds it's way onto my skillbar, but I hope you can find good use for it.

I use AoF and I swear by it. In fact I echo it. Yes AoF has a high energy cost. But it also lasts a long time, if you add in a 20% enchantment weapon. The thing is that AoF needs to be used as a pre-emptive measure. But if you are the number 2 monk on a team it works great. AoF + Vig Spirit + Barrage ranger and watch the +30's roll off. Place it on a Warrior and not only do you have an easier time with Kiss or Orison but their healing sig as well.

Again I go out with my guild a lot and I play an AoF build. in the long run it IS energy efficient because you cast the AoF once and then spam low cost 5 energy heals for most of the duration of the battle.

It isn't a skill for beginner Monks because you need to know when to anticipate might damage but once you get used to it AoF is a very powerful skill.

The only time one need a big heal is when it is an emergency, other wise hp are kept as high as possible by general healers/protector.

That is what make aura of faith not so interesting, as in emergency... you want speed not quantity. Fast heal has always been more important than strong heal (another reason boon prot rock).

The only place one can even have slight consideration of AoF, is on ghostly hero , gunther and guild lord kind of NPC, as their hp are quite high, and harder to fill up. I would still not take AoF over some other stuffs thou.

Point being that if you keep AoF up on your warriors or better your elementalist who may or may not have a perhant wish. **cough guildie cough couch** You can now spike more with less energy. The cost of AoF is offset by the long duration of the enchantment. IE you recoup the energy of the cast long before the enchantment wears off.

I use AoF as my primary in team Monk Build (I normally run a 300 build) and most of the people I play with love it.

Mind you it is totally usless for Rotscale teams.

AoF, Vig Spirit, Healing Seed, Kiss, Orizon on Healing, Healing Touch, Arcane Echo.

Aura of Faith must be used with high Divine favor atribute (15+). It's not an "upkeep" enchant, and last very long.
Remember that Aura of Faith boost the healing regardless of its source. That means Healing Signets, Divine favor bonus when applied (and with high DF+AoF, you will hugely increase your healing power), and even the healing from vamp skills will be increased by 50% (at 15+ DF). It doesn't increase regen,though.
At 16 DF, casting a spell with Divine Boon up on an AoF-ed teammate will heal him for 190+ HP whatever spell you casted on him.
Still, such builds lack E-management.
