The 13 healing is for +4 mending regeneration which counters bleeding and will give +1 health regeneration whilst bleeding. The high divine favour is for lengthened Spell Breaker and an improved Blessed Aura duration.
Bonetti's Defense is your powerhouse
and you can use it as much as you want up until the smites where they must hit you to trigger the draining effects of Sympathetic Visage.The key new skill for me is Spirit Bond which does not require 600hp or anywhere near that to trigger. This may be a bug but Spirit Bond's healing effects trigger before any other enchantments are considered (i.e. Protective Spirit). As a result, when creatures hit you, you are healed with the effect of Healing Seed and your health shouldn't drop below ~80%. You'll notice that when you get to Smite Crawlers, you can then tank an infinite number of them safely because they'll keep triggering Spirit Bond and recuperating your health.
It is important, however, that you have the Shing Jea ascetics purely because they are weak and have the same energy bonus as all other ascetics armour in the game. (The entire set cost me about 700g, runes cost more though).
