/signed thingy
I remember seeing this suggested around a few times. Suprised it still hasn't been added.
It would be pretty damn handy for knowing when your monks are low on energy and it's time to start backing off. Also nice for blood ritual and blood of power necromancers.
I really hope they allow us to see energy

There is no reason for this feature to not be implemented.

Adding it for only allies and team mates would be a huge mistake. You should be able to see everyone's energy. |
it would make skills like Mind Burn, Mind Freeze, etc (where the level of your energy relative to your foes comes into play) almost too easy to use.. and it would only aid mesmers and other shut-down units by keeping them from expending too much mana to stop their caster foes.
in no other RPG has the mana level of your foes been revealed out-right unless you had a scope or a reconaissance skill of some sort.
it would be nice, but highly impractical and horribly thought-out.
it's by-far more practical to display your allies' energy levels, but more luxury than necessity to show your enemies.
beonan, I disagree. First off, Mind Burn. How do you know the max energy of the enemy? Say you are a W/E with Mind Burn, however unlikely it may sound. Your energy bar is full. You use it on an elementalist with only 1/4 energybar. "He is gonna be hurt so bad" you think. Well, guess what. 1/4 of 100 is 25. More than the measly 20 energy you have. So as long as it is a bar, and not a number, that is fine.
And in GW, you have always been able to see the same info of the enemy, as of your allies. You can see their health, as with allies, their conditions/hexes/enchants. Targeting an ally gives out the same info as targeting an enemy. So why limit this energy bar to allies only?

Seeing allies energy=signed
seeing enemies=NOT signed
i think this is a gd idea that Anet should have brought in 2 the game awhile bk.. BUT i dont like the sound of knowing ur enemys Energy thats makes it 2 easy maybe a few skills that let u see ur enemys energy level would b better!
PS. for all those who keep saying make the blue line thicker or lighter.. he was just giving an EXAMPLE or what it might look like nothing more.. lol

Now, I do admit it would be nice to watch energy degenerative effects or see energy spikes in foes, and I see where having this information displayed would be advantageous. But wouldn't it change the game-play dramatically?
You don't see conditions/hexes/enchants on all foes in area, only your target.
I was implying that the energy status bar be visible on your allies at all times.
Perhaps a compromise in opinion by saying it would be nice to be able to see the energy level of your targetted foe... and the status of your allies energy levels at all times.
