I think i heard something about this, but i couldent find it anywhere. Did it get nerfed? If it didnt could someone tell me where to find these griffins and the solo build for a w/mo.

It was changed several months ago, so most of the threads are way back on the list. A horde of bugs moved in and drove the griffons away.

They were nerfed back in march, when they replaced all the griffen with a pack of jade scarabs and a scarab queen who drops a green monk prot staff.

Ya the queen. Stupid scarabs. Anet- bring back the griffons!

There are still griffins around the fringes of the queen area.

They didn't nerf anything. They simply added more, difficult enemies to the same area that most people farmed for griffons. The griffons are still there and are still in the other places around the desert that they were in before.
