It looks like most of the running skills are based off of the primary skill of the classes... is there any way to build a primary monk runner?

It's definitely possible, I've been run from citadel to copperhammer by a monk. Other than Spellbreaker and Healing Breeze I don't remember what skills he used though.

Well, whatever it is, the secondary would almost be required to be a ranger (that's the most likely one for dodge, stormchaser, and zojun's haste) or a warrior (unlikely as if you used SB you would be stuck with just sprint and rush)

Ranger secondary

8 Healing, max Divine Favor, rest into WS. 20% enchant weapon. Mending, Blessed Aura, Spellbreaker, Dodge, Storm Chaser, Serpent's Quickness, Breeze or other run skill. Cast SQ before SB, Storm Chaser gives lots of energy when SB is down, and aslo why I don't care for the 55 run build. With 455 health you can take a few hits and keep going.

Yeah, Monk runner primary is possible as a 55, i run the south shiverpeaks with these skills. I cant remember the attribute points but i do know the skills and the items that i wear, sorry its been a little while, before i went on vacation.

Skills: blessed signet, dodge, storm chaser, spellbreaker, serpents quickness, watchful spirit, mending, blessed aura. Hope this helps

Items: i wield a FFS( fiery flame spitter) i have an older one so enchants are 20% longer, and a divine symbol that halves casting time and recharge time 20% chance, both are from collectors.

Im sorry its a little vague but its the least i can contribute to help all of you out. With this build i ran from deldrimor war camp to citadel, and from citadel to copperhammer.

I think that this is pretty much what I'm looking for...

I'm just coming back to the game and bought the expansion, deleted all my old characters to have a "fresh start" and starting in on Factions..

I'm trying to build up a monk that will be adaptable for both farming and running.

I think I'm going for a spirit bond build for farming and I wanted monk for primary but wasn't sure how to fit in running skills (meaning speed increases) with a secondary, since most are based off of a primary skill.

My lil monk is only level 15 at the moment and has necro as secondary, I think I will give ranger a shot when I get to the point I can switch it.

I was already pretty much decided on ranger anyways, since it didn't look like warrior or assassin would work well enough for running skills.

Anywho, /ramble off....

Thing is, though, both Dodge and Zojuns haste only cost 5 energy, which is a nice break while storm chaser recharges

Personally I prefer the Mo/W runner combination, simply because it gives me more wildcards than Mo/R does (with Storm Chaser, Dodge, Zojun's Haste, and gods know what else). Sprint and Rush are the only running skills you need. 8 seconds of Sprint or Rush is plenty of time to break aggro and find a safe spot, and with Rush, you can just about have a constant speed boost at no energy cost.
