The title of this thread is misleading. Maybe it should be like:

"If you can't beat it, rally people to 'exploit' an aspect of the game so maybe Anet will change it back to when it's a lot easier for you, eventhough it's not really an 'exploit' that Anet will use as a reason for a change because it doesn't go against what is intended by the game."

Hmm ... maybe that is a bit too long.

How about "Playing the game as it was intended in a more balanced fashion?"

You should have both an elemental mod as well as other prefix mods for all your weapons. You should have had these things long before the update. You should know the common armor stats of a player you plan on railing on and chose a weapon accordingly. The update has changed close to nothing that would affect this decision. If you aren't doing this, you are a bad warrior.

fyi: using an elemental mod vs anything that doesn't have buffs vs physical is just wasting your prefix mod. Not to mention the fact that it would reduce your damage output vs many armor types. There is no single weapon mod you should be using, and that hasn't changed since the update.

...How is this an exploit? People have been doing this in pvp for a while. Warriors pre reduction nerf used elemental mods to not trigger the +20 armor vs physical on the usual Gladiator armor that most people use.

Also, you can always switch weapons when you're hitting/spiking something else. Come on guys, adapt to the battle.

I've always carried an elemental weapon my Warrior... just in case I got stuck doing 1v1.

It's not an exploit.. its common sense.

I agree, this is not so much an exploit as it is just the way it is.

A true exploit would follow under this: http://www.guildwars.com/support/leg...sofconduct.php

"You will not exploit any bug in Guild Wars and you will not communicate the existence of any such exploitable bug (bugs that grant the user unnatural or unintended benefits) either directly or through public posting, to any other user of Guild Wars. Bugs should be promptly reported via "Ask a Question" at http://support.guildwars.com."

Unnatural or unintended benefits, which would suggest to me this really isn't an exploit. My suggestion is not to throw the word "exploit" around so brazenly when it doesn't necessarily apply. Maybe more appropriately "if you can't beat it, abuse it" or something like that.

shadow damage is better than anything armor penetrating so SS is the way to go

This thread is retarded. It was always better to use an elemental weapon against warriors, this is nothing new. Not even close to an exploit, sorry.

I must confess to exploiting Divine Favor every time I cast a monk spell. It's really unfair that you receive bonus healing for each attribute point I have expended.

err....

What kind of insane reasoning is that?
"I could deal 100 damage, but I'm not going to because I deal 70."

As for ranger armor, well, that's why you bring a second, vampiric weapon, just for the hell of it.

Its funny that rangers now have better armor than wars. They just deal less dmg with their weapon but can make that up with a pet.

Ranger for DPS war for spiking. I guess that's the way Anet wanted it.

I don't know... anyone who has a warrior that didn't have both a physical and elemental weapon on their char by the time this 'update' was introduced... shouldn't be called an experienced warrior, even i (yes, me... that nooblet of a warrior) always have one of each type; my ranger even used to have all 4 elemental bowstrings on 4 different 15^50 collectors bows, then one unmodded bow, and a vamp one, never bothered to get a zealous mod though...

in other news, this should make the Ice Breaker and the IDS popular (again), i reckon

Rangers have worse armor than warriors, they have 70 vs. physical and 100 vs elemental. A Warrior wearing platemail and using a shield with no mods has 116 armor vs physical and 106 armor vs elemental. I assume you're referring to bunny thumpers with the DPS comment, as ranger builds classicaly deal in spikes while warriors are known for having the highest DPS.

You can take your puny 55 damage; I'll be doing 75+ (more or less )

Well we can split some hairs about terminology. Exploit @ dictionary.com:
1 To employ to the greatest possible advantage: exploit one's talents.
2 To make use of selfishly or unethically: a country that exploited peasant labor.

Using elemental damage against warriors is the former. Duping crystalline swords would be the latter
