I have a AMD 3200+ 64 bit 1GB of ram 200GB Seagate HD MTI nforce 4 platinum motherboard and a ATI9200SE video card Also I just started playing factions (this never happendbefore) and the screen froze and it was pink / purple...

If so, it is either a) the coils in your monitor (CRT monitors), b) the coils in your graphics card. There's much nothing you can do about it. My old R9800 used to squeal a lot, especially certain resolutions, and in Diablo II, whenever I had an object highlighted o_O;
