Hey Xunlai agent, can I paid another 200g but store 1000 of each material?
No? But a full set of armor for eg. 15k warrior requires like more than 250 iron Ingots ya know? Still no? Oh ok...

But yes it's a bit annoying but what to do.

Also, still hoping for storage for event items and other collectable stuff. Most people probably have several stacks of the common materials e.g. wood, iron, cloth etc. so while it helps free up one stack maybe, most who have materials still have a lot of the same material stored on their characters. |

A.net didn't have to give us more storage, they didn't have to give us anything. But they did...
However small the new storage maybe, it extra storage. A.net promised "extra" storage which has been added in. Seems fair to me.
As for those calling A.net greedy, well they are a company out to make a profit, if you were working for them you'd think the same.
Anyways you don't NEED to by Factions anyhow. I lived with the normal storage for 1 year, using my warrior character as a mule, so its not like anything will change for people who still refuse to pay the small fee to buy factions.
Factions costs only £17.99 here in the UK, that is hardly anything at all.
So less of the A.net bashing
I really think its a nice upgrade, but in the long run its a very very minor upgrade. The only real use for me for it is holding ecto, shards, jade and amber. It freed up a few slots on my chars, but i still have a few stacks in regular storage.
I do find it disheartening that our prophecies brothers and sisters cannot benefit at the same time as us but at the same time, i see Anet's logic in making it "exclusive content", even if minor.
I really feel torn at this issue.

im not complainning because its something for nothing really it didnt come with faction nor with prophacies t was ADDED out of no where...
i do wish it held more than it does considering i have an upgraded account and my 6 chracters have to share the same storage... i wish each had an individual storage as well as the general storage to transfer items to your other characters...

A terabyte is approx. 1 trillion bytes. If it is in that general area, heck, I will buy Anet a drive or two.

I'd hazard a guess and say that the reason stacks are limited to 250 is that that fits quite snugly into 8 bits or 1 Byte. 8 bits allows for 256 combinations.
What are there, 31 materials spaces? So that's 31 Bytes of information per account. That's about 60MB for 2 million accounts.
Hell, let's be generous and give each account 1KB of storage space. That's 1,024 Bytes or 8,192 bits.
That's about 2GB of storage.
Oooooooo, scary huge!

(<-- tongue in cheek here, I realize they have no obligation/reason to give out that sort of information)Don't get me wrong though, I do appreciate ANet's effort. But unless they're planning to make additional storage tabs for dyes, trophies, and what not, it seems a rather token gesture at best -- certainly not in the effort to make it, but in its impact. When you think about it, they had to create the tab system, add in slots for each type of material with counters for each, and so on... A second tab of general storage would have been more useful and easier to impliment IMHO, unless they are planning to add more (hint, hint ANet
).actually.. dont get me wrong here completely.. while it would have been "nice"to add the feature to prohecies, I can kinda understand the mentalitly, even if it is meant to be the same game... what would be nice though is to have an agent upgrade "option" in Tyria, maybe in Ascalon to allow those of us with factions to be able to open the extra storage, without having to trek all the way to the otherside (and I guess this only really affects those of us that have started new Tyrian characters recently
)... ^^ rant over!
Next up, I want a "closet" where I can only put things that are customized for that specific character - so festival gear, farming outfit, my showoff 15k sets. :P
I really do appreciate the addition to storage. Completely freed my original storage up. I don't see a huge need for more then 250 per slot. Sure full armor sets can take more then 250 of one of the common items, but they're common! Its not like you'd have to spend hours getting that missing 50 iron ingots...
