Yeah gladiator sets have better armor points against melee. I thought it would be a little more tough looking or at least looks a bit protective... but how can it be better against melee with well all those body exposed?

I dont understand why the armour has to be less effective if it's more scarcely placed on the body. By now everyone knows 15k armour is pure asthetics and it does it's job, it looks the part of some kind of roman gladiator. But does that mean the gladiator set should have it's armour values changed based on how it looks?

Thanks for posting the 1.5k armor Spartan.
As far as I see it, the fact that the 15k armor reveils more skin shows that the wearer knows how to use the least amount of armor possible while achieving better maneuverability.
Better maneuverability means you can guard yourself much more effectively from melee attacks.
This particular armor shows how the warrior only needs to cover the areas that will be most vulnerable to attacks. These areas include the attacking arm, shoulder peice to protect the head and neck, and tough shin-pads to protect the feet.
You would have quite a bit of trouble trying to stop an arrow going for your chest, which would be no worries with Platemail.
I hope everyone understands that Gladiators aren't supposed to be covered up very much.

No problem guys, I was just browsing this and saw that now one had posted it yet. The original armor is roughly the same yellow hue as what is shown in the original 15k shot at the beginning of this topic.

I don't understand why they go with Gladiator armor. Gladiator is known to ... take off their armor. The Romans wanted quick gore, so they made the gladiator to fight with partial armor set (lacking a lot of pieces).
I would think warriors would start with a gladiator set and gradually go up to chainmail, platemail, etc.
Also am lamenting here (at work and not able to post pics): I made a mistake by upgrading my female warrior from ringmail to chainmail. She looks worst. Problem is,
I don't have the original armor set anymore.

The new female armors only support the theory about women in battle: They're neigh invulnerable everywhere EXCEPT their chest and lower regions. Why else would they show all that skin, yet cover those specific areas? Weak points. Additionally, skin-tight clothing provides more protection than loose clothing, as displayed by Taki in Soul Calibur II.

I'm not really all that bothered by it to be honest. It isn't the glad armor that really bugs me but yeah I think in general a lot of the fem armor is pretty revealing.
Then again though there are styles that aren't so much.

Here's my problem, though: That neck guard is on the wrong side. The majority is right-handed, wielding the sword on the right and the shield on the left. If you and I are attacking each other and I slash towards your neck, the slash will go from your left to your right. That neck guard, though, is on your right, and it is not gonna stop my sword.

why is everyone complaining? if u dont like it, dont get it. easy as that. and they are also trying to make it where it is believeable rather than fantasy like. a druid armor actually having armor wouldnt really say it is a druid armor.
same goes for the gladiator. if it has more armor. it would be more than a gladiator armor, it would become a platemail, knight armor, or just armor.

IMHO, 1.5k leggings > 15k leggings, so keep get the 3 pcs of 15k glad but keep the leggings, it looks better that way actually.

Because the design of that armor set is designed as if you had a shield in your other hand. The design assumes that you'd block a slash at your neck with the shield.
