Priceless?
Now, here's a little story that you might find educating.
Going to Mineral Springs to hunt the monk elite skill Shield of Judgment, with henchies, as a smitin' stance warrior - not much effort.
Fighting my way throughout 'springs with a few deaths - half an hour spent.
Killing the elite skill monk boss Myd Springclaw - little effort (he was easy)
NOT bringing the Signet of Capture - PRICELESS!
Add a large variety of curses here. If there's any good sides, it is that I was able to go there with this kind of group, since the Granite Citadel is often very empty. But I REALLY would like that I never had to go again... phew!

OMFG - That both made me laugh so hard, and feel so sorry for you at the same time! Luckily every time I go Elite Hunting I strip my skill bar and build it from scratch, with the SoC being first port of call.

Well, my story has a happy ending - I went back and got lucky and Springclaw was the second spawning boss. (He still was a wuss, it's just hard getting to him)
This time I had the capture with me and Lo and behold, got the SoJ.
But after all that tiresome running around, it's more than likely that the next time I go for elites, I remember to take the signet of capture with me the first time...

You want to know what's worse? Going for the cap, getting the boss and then realizing you already have it.

I did exactly the same thing, although I hadn't got as far as the boss before I noticed...

You know whats funny? When I capped Shield of Judgement, the Boss was like the closest one to the entrance. -_- I was in and out quickly. xD

The best is spending an hour fighting your way to the top of Snake Dance to capture Earthshaker from that miscreant Kor Stonewrath and then getting an Err7 right when you engage him (happened twice). It's a cursed skill.

Hm, it wasn't a skill that I missed but I might be able to top that with something that happened to me once. I only wish that I had thought of taking screen shots back then.
There was I, down in the Underworld, taking hell from those Aatxes when Lo! and Behold! I see an Ecto assigned to my character. I decided to get it later, once the fight was over and kept doing my thing. Two seconds after that, another Aatxe owned the hell out of me. I stared at the Ecto shinning right at the feet of my dead character for 30 seconds, trying to accept it.
Oh, well. At least I got some good laughs from what the OP said.
