It's the people behind the rangers/warriors that are givng their class a bad rep. Anyone knows that a competent person behind the keyboard of a ranger..or indeed a warrior...is deadly!
A rangers effectiveness stems from it's flexibility and versatility. Shutdown or damage, distraction or support...any of which can tip the scales of the battle.

wow, what is with that leaver? That's ridiculous...
I wonder if that idiot happen to be skeptic against NASA apollo's landing on moon.
oh yea... one more thing...
Rank = nothing = visual pleasure
You can be the top guy in GvG and rank 0, people would make fun of you for it... that's just dumb.

Or maybe he quit out because 90% of the Competition Arena rangers these days use the very cheap interrupt spike setup, and he doesn't want a part in it any longer?

It's not cheap. It's fregin funny to see someone try and rez an ally 15 hundred times. and get interruped every time.

as i have said before this bias is based off of ill informed reality
i believe in reality there arent that much more % of stupid rangers and warriors than with any other class. The thing is, in a quick 1min pug beat down, others are not that noticeable. You can clearly see a warrior do something dumb like attack the warrior first instead of the monk or a ranger run around instead of helping out; But a ele, necro or mesmer can sit still, not cast a single spell and just die or have a completely idiotic skillset and you may never even realize it.

This whole fad is getting bad for my Ranger, whom I started before the craze began. People don't even give time to see that I'm not running a chain interrupt build and quit. Sucks D; I'm having to go back to my Mesmer (The next craze, I'll bet on) to get a decent group.

I'll be honest, I am running my version of the chain interrupt build (no spirits or troll), and have been for nearly a month now, long before it became FOTM. Leaving the arena because someone on your team MIGHT have a build you don't like is silly, stupid and immature.

You know what is funnier? watch the ranger trying so hard to interrupt your rezz after you use glyph of concentration.

Why do people conclude rangers and warriors suck in pvp? Ohhh noes! Physicial damage is teh suxxors! Me no group wit joo!!
So a ranger is overpowered because he can shutdown a caster? Okay, mesmers are overpowered because they can shutdown a warrior. Not everyone that has a similar build coppied it. I have came up with all my own interupt ranger builds for pvp. Not once have I even glanced at another FotM build.
If you don't liker angers interupting, what do you want them to do? Sit there and spam preperations and traps? Interupts are just way to usefull in pvp to leave out.

Ranger interrupts should not be faster than ranger quickshots. Nuff said.

Sound argument about the necro/mesmer ele thing.
It is a rash generalisation that ALL warriors and ranger primarys are dumb. But it is the trend that most ill-fested puberty deprived 13 year olds choose warriors and rangers as their favourite character.
And thats whats giving the rest of us a bad name.
But really, its hard being appreciated as a ranger as in HoH you hardly ever get put in a team unless you go with guildies.

Interupting Rangers own in Competition Arenas, I'm actually pretty glad when I team with 3 Rangers (as long as there's not a second Healing/Prot Monk or any Warriors it's always fine with me ).

then it would be like interrupting with disrupting chop or savage slash, except from a distance, and counting arrow flight time.. yeah, in other words, no.

I just think the entire "Your build is cheap as hell" attitude is so redundantly pointless...
Yeah, I admit... when I play in the arenas or pvp, and I spent a good 20-30 minutes putting together an AWESOME build that I think will totally p0wn... and someone steps up and shows me how wrong I really am... LOL that can be frustrating. The game is balanced between characters, and if you have the right set of skills and the right amount of luck/talent you can always come out smelling like a rose.
Specifically, my guild and I... (My guild consisting of me and my best friend) play in the arenas all the time and we are always challenging each other. He makes a warrior anti-monk and I make a monk anti-warrior and we duke it out till we can't fight no more LOL! We have proved that if you have the right tactics and skill sets, EVERY single class can counter any other.
My favorite match ever was, I had a mesmer/elementalist... he had a warrior/monk... and that match lasted for about 20 minutes with just he and I duking it out on our own. Both our teamates cheering us on like crazy. I kept making him damage himself and stealing his energy... he kept healing himself and poking at me with smiting prayers. By the end of the battle we both had no energy points and about 50 hp apiece. He took a chance swing while having empathy and spirit of failure cast on him, took the damage and killed me with the last swing, bringing him down to 9hp. We were cracking up on teamspeak for about 5 minutes.

I feel your pain. Ranger interrupter is the only PvP class I enjoy playing, and I've been tweaking Kindle builds way before the last update. Damn elitists :/

This happened to my warrior last night in random arena several times. Everyone got on board with the distracting ranger. I was doing it when it wasn't cool to play a ranger.
I new that I was dead right off the bat last night when I say 3 ranger and 1 warrior on the other team. I guessed that they were all using the distracting build and I was correct.
It's a little overpowered to be able to interrupt so much and so fast, but I can't complain because I love my ranger also!

im sorry to say this, but a month ago it wasnt possible to run an interupt chain because both punishing shot and savage shot took as long to shoot as, say, double shot. meaning unless you wanted to interupt firestorm, you could only get lucky with it. before only distracting shot and concussion shot attacked as fast as quick shot.
so if you were running the same skill set as the kind of distract chain people use now.... it wouldnt be very good.
