Max Dmg to dispell the dis-believers!
A while back we had a thread about maxdmg compared to a weapon that is one point from max dmg. We even discussed how the requiremenst come into play and some arguee that a low req. will increase the damage of the weapon. While a higher req. will increase your damage when using spells releated to that ability it will not increase your standard attack one bit.
so for you who wish to pay up to 500k more for an item that is say a 15-22 dmg weapon rather than a 14-21 then you paid 500k for 1 extra point of damage when you most likely will be using spells anyway to increase your damage power and still it will yield just one extra point.
Its like a +29 fortitude vs. a +30, is one extar point worth that much more? how often have you said "If I just had 1 more hp I would have lived!" Yes I have +30's on me and that is it, but I just wanted to share the experiment since ppl online in game still srguee that max dmg and low req. will have far superior power than a high req. 1 point off dmg weapon.
My crystalline is a 14-21 and is gold and has perfect sundering and +30 but costs millions less than a 15-22, so now I can have my sword and fissure too!

Although I understand the overall purpose of this thread, for arguments sake did the other weapon have a perfect sundering mod on it as well? Otherwise, who is to say that the 2 pictures you showed were not when the 10% armour penetration took effect.

yes it did have a 10/10 on it which I then later tried to salavge out and did not get
the only diff on swords other than type was my crystalline has a +30 fortitude on it and the other did not, the 10/10 was the only mod on the other sword. good point, I should have mentioned that, I see how it can be confusuing.

For argument's sake, let's say your damage is 9 consistently on one weapon and 10 on the other. In that scenario, over, say, 50 hits, you're doing 450 damage versus 500 damage, from swings alone.
Worth the extra money? Up to you.

I had a similar experience in CA... I was really freaking out that I was going to die at any second until I got healed.
But hey, I was using a +4 Armor mod, not health. Now the question is, had I used a +30 health mod instead, how many HP would I have at that time, assuming no chaos/shadow/DoT/etc damage?

the question shouldn't be "are you willing to spend 500k on 1 extra dmg", the question should be "are you willing to spend millions on a different looking sword that does the same as a crafted sword anyway"
answers on both questions are "hell no".
1 extra dmg does matter, as does 1 extra armor/health/% chance, but the beauty of it all is that all that doesn't cause you a single dime, it's called faction

+Health mods are only good against armor ignoring + DoT. Compared to if you had a +armor mod, you wouldn't have taken that much damage in the first place.
People only want the 15-22's because it is max damage. People want perfection, and strive to achieve it, thats why they buy the 15-22's over 14-21's. Also buying differetn models of weapons is vanity, and the only need there is to satisfy ones need for cool looking things. I admit, I am a victim of that, and thats why I am always broke.

Why do people want max damage weapons?
Because it's easy as HELL to get them. Getting a perfect weapon is easy as hell, many of us have our storage, or even inventories, full of them! Why the hell would you use a non-max dmg weapon when they readily drop on the ground? When upgrades are so abundant? When I made my mesmer just last week, I was like..."Boy, now I need a wicked weapon for him." I now stand with several greens and plenty of max dmg weapons that would suit just as well.
And for the record, I can't count on my fingers how many times I've survived with less than five health. Last night in Dragon's Lair I survived with only one health point.

yeah, you can even BUY from VENDERS max weapons with max damage mod
and you can TRADE with COLLECTORS for max weapons with max damage mod,
using a 14-21 is just stupid
