Derek's name is mentioned specifically for reporting a rather glaring PvP error/exploit with armor that has recently been fixed.

Anet's update notes mention Derek, only days after he finds an exceptionally rare item?

Amazing coincidence? Somehow I doubt there is "no" connection here.

Sorry, Conspiracy Theory 101 tells us that there should be, but nope. And remember, there's really no way to know that this poster is the same person mentioned in the Update Notes. Not to cast any aspersion on the OP, but they may be unrelated, simply the same handle.

I don't know about the sword -- it's very pretty and I've not seen one myself. That's not to say they do not exist, by any means, or even that they are exceptionally rare. I'll see if there's any info on these and post if I learn anything of interest.

The light of Dwayna must have just been shining on him this week.

Enough people have posted in this thread that they have indeed seen it in game that I have to believe it exists.

i've seen a marked increase in "+armor vs undead" shields and weapon mods recently. also several bow and staff skins that where not really seen/known before have been popping up. no reason anet couldnt be injecting new skins into the game. perhaps he was given that as a reward for pointing something out, and if so maybe it's just the first example of a new skin that will start showing up. could also be some "cycle" that is rolling through the game- "random" drops that go in "trends" as the game ages. seems as if certain weapons/shields/items show up more at different times. only time will truely tell.

now lets hope for maybe red "eternal" items, or perhaps some different colored storm bows.....

*edit* wow! took me 22 minutes to post while watching the news. maybe gaile will give us some good news.

These two events are in no way related! The PVP Armor fix was actually fixed a while ago, it has just now gotten on the list of changes! Thanks for backing me up Gaile! ;-* You know it's really me though! Man, I like exclamation points!

the way the camera moved in the video isn't humanly possible because it was too perfect in movement, i'm gonna have to go with the general "its fake" bandwagon
