Korean Coke Items Up Close
Met up with a Korean player just now who had all 4 Coke Items and allowed me to take screen shots. Many Thanks to Quick Rinoa for setting up the meeting, and to "Mr X" for showing them to me.
Quick Silver(wand(
Illusion req 8, increases illusion casting speed 20%, Energy +5
Heavens Arch
Healing Req 8, Prot skill cast increase 20%. Energy+12
Storm ember, Fire 8, Recharge 20%
Scorpion bow

I fell in love with all of them, esp the Mesmer cane. Alas these cannot be traded or dropped. But I was honored to be allowed a look at them.

As far as I was told you cannot drop or trade these items, so importing them is'nt possible(tis against the EULA too I think). As for obtaining them I believe you had to purchase a coke collectors account and then you got them.
Mr X's english was good but did'nt cover the intricacies of how he got them..

Yay! Yet another coke items thread. Anyway, for those who don't know, Galie addressed this issue way back in the day. It went something like this: You can't get the items. They are basically the pre-orders for Korea, since they can't get our pre-orders. It is impossible for US or Europeans to get these items.

I like how their items are much more useful than our pre-orders. :|

In other words, a big F.U. to the entire rest of the world outside Korea. Seriously, we are interested in these because we not only can't get them, but we don't have anything that looks like them.

From Gaile Gray:
- "The promotion is for Korea only.
- There may be similar promotions for other areas in the world. Including yours!
- The items were designed by the Guild Wars Team, the same folks who designed every other item, and they are considered balanced and appropriate for PvP. No worries on gaining a competitive edge, iow.
- We do need to be able to offer regional content. We offered the Beta Weekend Events and the Preorder in North America. We offered BWEs and a separate Preorder in Europe. The items for both differed, as you're probably aware. We had a CE for NA, a CE for Europe, a CE for Korea, and the SE that you may currently hear about was targeted primarily for Europe. It's not "preference" or "favouritism" that drives such decisions, but the desire to bring the game to the broadest possible player base, and the need to fulfill the different needs of each region.
At present we're busy working on the plans for the second chapter, and I'm sure you'll see opportunities and offers for your region, no matter where you region is."

only problem with this - if indeed those are a "pre-order item", then why are they max? those could be taken to the end of the game, while the u.s. pre-order items needed to be tossed out somewhere near lions arch.
such is life.
now if they would just introduce that death's head staff to the rest of us with some other name......

With my luck I'll find myself the proud owner of something like a Mulberry Mace, a Barnacle Bow or a Penguin Sword ...

They weren't actually preorder items. ANet/Arenasoft teamed up with Coca Cola over there. Drink a coke / coke product, get points, collect X points to get one of the items. Really, the only difference between those items and items you can already get in the game, is the skin. The scorpion bow is just like and +15>50 bow with a poisoners string, only it only comes in 1 range flavor, where as I can have 4 bows of different ranges, all with poisoners strings, appearance isn't everything.
Thanks for the pictures though, till now I had only seen the low quality pics that were on the cokeplay.com site.
