For all those out there wondering if ettin farming is worth doing, check out this picture. All these were from farming for 1 hour. Total sell price was around 20k. Not to mention the black dye.

The question is (I'll take my situation for exemple) : does your chance comes back after a while or do you have to stop farming this place and do something else with your caracter and then come back after a while...?

Back before Khephet, i used to do griffons for money when we didnt have favor. My question is, im wondering if i can use relatively the same build on ettins:

bonettis
cyclone
Executioners
Glad Defence {e}
Vig Spirit
Zealots Fire
Live Vicariously
Balthazars Spirit

Not sure of points, but i had 12 axe, 6 smite, vs and lv were at 7 points per hit, and the rest into tactics. This depends on dmg from Glads, Cyclone and Zealots every time u recast vs. feedback please!

Just so you know, dont do screenshots like that. I did that once, ONCE with a black dye, 3 gold armors, 4 golds (one was a req 7 wingblade max) and some purples on this ridiculously lucky run I was having. I dumped them, took a screenie and went to pick up my loot, but the game was frozen. After 5 min. of waiting it errored out on me, we'll never know what those were

Just take the screenie of your inventory and dont let the unthinkable happen to you.

It seems like an unannounced change with the update today. Purple armors can now be major or superior and gold armors are always superior (this is second hand info from my guildies so I apologise in advance if its incorrect).

Apperently gold armors are 100% chance to get supirior runes now

now i can go back and farm my gold armor farming spot(not ettins

), usualy get 3-5 in each 10 minite run ^^, thing was i never got suprior runes......., i remember i had about 32 of them after about 2 hours of farming.....then i kinda identified...few major absorbtions and vigor, not much worth anything lol.

but now bwahahahahahahah!!!!!!!

all im saying hehehe

Wow, this is great...i got blue pauldrons identified as major runes and purple identified to superior runes today. Hope its true that all the gold pauldrons are superior now.

I had never ever gotten a sup absorption in 3 monts playing this game and 1 month straight farming these damn ettins and today i got 2 sup absorptions in 10 minutes

Let me tell ya i was pretty happy but i seen that the merchant price has gone down to 41k (last time i checked)

Firstly

heh yes firstly...unless your a complete chari potatoe or jsut really really lucky ettins never drop good i have only ever got one superior rune from the golds they drop and it was superior inspiration, so i suggest not farmign them, but if u want u can use the build i was using

12 sword 12 sword
8 heal 8 heal
Rest in strgth or rest in tactics then strgth

savage slash
Galrath slash
sever artery
gash
Final thrust
Mending
Heal breeze (shoudlnt have any energy problems if u do use healing signet) (if u use tactics do healing signet here)
Sprint or Dolyak (killing stuff in way or running)

oo sorry should have read, so now all golds are superiors...sure ill farm some etitns now but i bet it will still only be like sup mesmer runes

mostly because ettins knock you down whenevr you block theyre irrsistable which hey spam whenevr they can

No I don't think so - GOLD armor can still be MAJOR runes. I got a GOLD MAJOR Hammer Mastery from the Ettins today. The majority are still 25g runes, but I was able to unlock quite a bit of SUPERIOR runes today.

Woot, now those gold armours contain somet thats at least RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing superior!

Its a shame all the runes arent worth a thing anymore now. Sup vigours dropped to 20kish, absorptions are less than 50k (european), guess they'll keep falling like the monk runes...

Last night was mesmer rune night for me. I id'd 6 gold and 13 purple runes. All the gold runes were mesmer. They all went to the merchant except for a major vigor. :\

NOT ALL RARES ARE SUPERIOR!!! Its just a rumor. I got a rare yesterday that turned out MAJOR Air Magic(which is funny cuz right after that i found a purple Air Magic). This isnt right. Although, out of all the other (6) golds i got yesterday i got a Sup Energy Storage, Sup Blood Magic, and SUP ABSORPTION!!!.....too bad they're down to FORTY-K NOW!!!! DANG ITT!!!!
Anyway, yeah. Not all rares are sup...
