what a HUGE disappointment, virtually the same as 1.5k armour , was it really worth waiting for. no it wasnt , anet made this up in a matter of hours based on the old armour just to shut us up, what a waste for those poor people who already bought the armour

...I like it too. Don't have a Necro at the moment but I've been considering making one for quite a while now (first character was a Necro).
I agree though, it does look a little (too?) similar to 1.5k.

you guys seem to have formed opinions on the screenies of ppl who put there gfx to the lowest setting.
the 15k tormentor armor is WAY better in every way, looking at the detail is pretty impressive.

Actually, I think most of these screenies are taken by the people NOT wearing the armour. Go into any town and look at somebody elses armour, and you'll see a mess of blobs and bumps.

In towns/outposts, other people's armor(besides yours) is set at low graphics. to prevent a lot of lag
oops: someone beat me to it

really really*sarcastic*
seriously though, if you havnt seen the true detail upclose outside or wearing the armor itself then you dont know how good it looks.

*sigh* I went for months, bitching to everyone I could to get this shit out, and they stick me with this? Seriously? They manage to entirely remake a fabulous looking 15k necrotics set, and then they stick us with THIS for the tormentors set? The ONE set of armor they've had MONTHS to work on?
(The screenshots are taken by my character at 1280x1024 resolution, everything maxed out, including AA. It doesn't get any better looking that that.)
Surely it's a joke, that's just about the most horribly proportioned, twisted bit of yard waste I'd ever imagined it could be. Just about the only changes in the legs are they made the side spikes on the thigh longer, and they kinda redid some colors on the inside of the boots. Why the hell do the legs look entirely different than the chestpiece? And look at the glove pieces, you can hardly tell they changed a damn thing, looks like they just changed some coloring on the gloves.
*sigh* Well that's my necromancer in the 15k tormentors set dyed my mix of brown. I will say I'm pretty disappointed, I would've probably been happier with at least a decent looking reskin. At least the old models had a flow to it. They're probably sitting there at the office going "PieXags will never be happy." Well I guess that's true, but at least I've got a pretty good excuse that time. Months of waiting, petitioning, pms and emails for...that? Bah! I guess I'll stick with it, it's another set of 15k armor, but that's about all it is.

For the last week, the temptation for me had been...
"Ah - they will soon release the 15k tormentor set. I have all the raw material collected. Should I go ahead and get the deldrimor steel ingots? Should I get the 15k tormentor right now? This way, when they release it, I shall be among the first to have it!!"
I am SO HAPPY that I managed to stave off my temptation and kept the raw material.
Just IMHO The 15k tormentor looks like a rush job -- there was no design theme like the original tormentor -- just by looking at it, you could see the artist going: "oh, what the hell, just lengthen this here, change that color, viola, new tormentor armor -- now I can go back to work on the Christmas update."

Yeah, it looks almost the same. Maybe the artists was kind've lazy because they're focusing on Chapter 2. I thought it was going to look almost similar to Eve's attire.
