You are so right in pointing that out, he was trying to be funny but just came out dumb. But I have to add, the armor at the tombs has a slight japanese feel to it so I bet that they pulled a "lump all of asia into our three cultures" move. Lots of games have done it.
I hope the armors have cool abilites, but wouldn't that be kinda weird? The game is supposed to be stand alone, so why should someone get all the cool abilities in one game over another? So I hope they are different but balanced. For example, I want my elementalist to have all around elemental protection, but it should be lower than any single element. And maybe even a physical protection boost on one set. But Uber Armor? I hope they don't make an amatuerish move like that without making the cost sky high.

I do recall that the armor had status (bleeding and such) protection, I could see many armors have reduction from status disorders.

The only thing so far that ive liked with the previews of armors and new hairs is the new Female Monk Hair Style.

Why no samurai style armor or helms for the warriors? The samurai is the warrior class of feudal Japan, yet no pics for such an armor style? Hope I'm just jumping the gun and they have such an armor

Perhaps they simply have not released screens of such an armor yet. I would hope that there are going to be more armors than what has been shown.

Male Warrior: good except for helm
4 stars!
Male & Female Monk: YAY for a nonscar armor!
5 stars!
Female assassin sabateur set: Yay! ( not in this picture, but w/e)
4.5 stars! They have armor!
Male assassin sabateur set: Yay! (not in this picture)
4.5 stars! Armor that looks like it is stealth but still has 70 armor.
GRIPES
Male/Female Ritualist: Native Americans???
Male Elementalist: Eww. It looks like a dress
Female Mesmer: this looks just like a moded version of fow.
Male mesmer: he looks like Galen Trask... it's a caster, not an explorer of the new world...still better than purple crap they have now though
Female/male necro: how is this much different from the current armors... seems like a 10 minute modification using parts from older armor
Female warrior: I don't like how they are keep taking off armor off the female armors... IT IS A WARRIOR, not a ballerina...

Those new armors aren't Japanese style. Those are more Chinese style.
Especially:
Male Ele - His outfit resemable ancient chinese history. Those government employees who works in the Old time Chinese Palace. So does his hair style (that little round bon on his head.... typical chinese older style)
I've seen some ppl complain the outfit, well it's not a dress, GW just mimic the style with their own designs. (Seriously GW can do better though)
Male/Female Monks:
Both Chinese style... (definitely not Japanese) Especially the female monk's new hair style.
I don't find Mesmer nor Necro's new armor have much Asian feel so far. (Except one of the Female Mes's armor)
I've read how Guild War was expecting to earn more popularity in Asia Market, that's probably why they wanna change the whole thing to Asian Feel. I actually hope they can create some Japanese style ! Both older time fashion or combine with Japan nowaday fashion trend fashion :P! (Kimono with wooden platform will be good hehe)

I'm not sure if i like these armors or not.
the necro looks.... different. Not exactly awful or great..
I can't decide if the warrior is kick ass or the dumbest thing ever.
But, doesn't really matter i'll probably end up buying as many new armors as possible. (If I have the money, which I probably won't)

Everyone knows it's a quote from a song... it still came off ignorant and insensitive.
Now that we've seen some examples of the armor, has anyone seen any samples of shields? I'm really curious there. Maybe a collector equivalent of the stance shield?
I think they will have some japanese items. The npc in tombs leans that way. And they mentioned three cultures right? Why would they ignore Japan when they just opened gaming there? Here's hoping for a Katana.
