I have a bear, picked it up in Lornar, I love him to death. He's pretty dang strong, has good AR, but he's a little slower than some other pets. ah well, still kicks butt.

Dune lizards have Final Thrust I believe, or some very high-end damage attack. I love them.

My vote goes for Dune Lizards.
How can you not love something that looks like a seriously cheesed off iguana, several millions of years closer to its early reptilian ancestors?

Yes I picked up a Warthog in Pre-Searing. It's fun to group with someone and they wonder how I got 'Boss Hog' at such a low level.

Not really.
Just do the ranger class quest but not turn into a ranger, go do the mesmer quest and became a mesmer and you get to keep the pet until you change zones, then you lose him.
I could post a similar screenshoot (if I taken it) since I do all pre-searing quests possible for hoarding XP and I have runned into that, makes the mesmer class quest a bit easier since you have pet help.

Is any one pet strong than another?
For instance I have heard the following:
Bears: most HP, longest life
Wolf: faster attack or more damage
Spider: ocassionally poisons, slow
Stalker: faster
Lizard: more armor, final thrust
Is any of that true?

You should have used the search function instead of reviving an old, dead thread...
According to the pet test results (http://forums.gwonline.net/showpost....&postcount=123) every pet is just about the same in terms of HP, damage, AL and attack speed, but the spider seems to do a bit more damage.
No, it doesn't poison.

The spider is in the Underword, there are lots of threads about it.
All pets are the same, except for the fact that the Spider's base damage is 2 points better on both min and max (17-29 as opposed to 15-27) at 12 Beast Mastery. There are lots of posts about this too.
Spiders do not poison, many people have confirmed this.
