Doh!
At least you can take some satisfaction that you ... well, erm originally conceived the design? I'd say that's worth something

Wow, I gotta say they don't look anything alike to me. Yours is filled with spaces in between and the pics aren't. Then end portions aren't similar. Apart from basically all looking like an axe, they don't look at all similar. Not even the curves of the blades are alike. Your are more rounded forming a comple circle. The in game shot is more like a sine wave

I don't see any similarity at all. You've both used the standard axe/double axe shape, but your axe has completely different handle and ornaments than the game axe.
Also the game axe has thrusting tips to the blades, which your axe does not have.

I must agree. It doesn't matter that the shape of the blade is similar, especially since it's an extremely common blade design. What makes an axe unique is the little intricate details, such as the gaps in yours, or the little doodle on the gothic axe. I've drawn (when REALLY bored in class) my own little weaponry doodles, and most of the axes have that same shape. So no my friend, the gothic axe and your axe are nothing alike.
EDIT: Nice drawing btw.

Similar, sure - but just about any axe shape would look just as similar.

The problem I had with the weapon/item design contest was that I knew Anet would end up using designs that didn't actually win the contest anyway. Seriously, you send them in and they can do what they want with them, they don't have to put them up as winners but we'll definately see some of the other submissions in the game in some form or another, even though they didn't win and such.
I don't think it looks like the drawing though, no. It's got the basic...axe, design to it, but so do hundreds of other axes.

Your single bladed drawing looks more like a Dwarven Axe, but longer and more uber.

I would like to say "absolutely not" to that question. I can't see any similarities. the designs, blade shapes, and adorning details are too intricately different.

if, by "similar" you mean that both are axes, then yes. otherwise, no.
the shape of the axe blade is different. the internal designs are different. the handles are different as well.
