Hey guys whats up?

Well as some of you know I am the webmaster of Guild Wars Realm and I though I would introduce to you our first massive project

Now this is slightly advanced so try to stay with me

Green Items Images

Well for some time now I have been noticing that at the moment there is not a clean professional set of images documenting all of the green items in the game.

Myself and Skarteh from my site have decided to change all of this. Skarteh being the photoshop wiz that he is has recreated the "items description" part of guild wars almost exactly. Below is an example of his work

using Vector art he has managed to recreate it, which allows us to place the description over any area of the image that we want. This will allow for people to screenshot the item and we can organize it as we see fit.

Now for the hard part

Collecting the greens.

This will be the communities job because we cannot possibly collect all of them ourselves.

However there is a catch

If you want to help us you will need to do things in a certain order
Each screenshot of the item must be done using the following details

Resolution - 1280X1024
Details - Max
Anti Aliasing - 4X

This will allow for the best possible images we can get, as well if possible try to take the screenshot in the desert as it provides the best light.

Once done please feel free to post the image here, if you have problems finding a place to host contact me and I can get back to you.

Each screenshot will feature the name of the person who took the image

Below is a finished example of one we have created as well as a list of green items!

I wil post a more up to date list based on what greens we have already collected later on today.

Useless, nah

For some time now I have been using guild wiki, as well as eohjay, and as much as I enjoy these sites, their green items are something that I have noticed have been lacking. I want to take each of the items and make it standardized in order to provide a nice picture to look at.

When done each picture will have the same size look and feel to it, which is what is hard to find.

I have found that gwonline has something along the lines of this on thei page, however they do not have the stats listed.

I thought this would be a good community wide project that we could complete

In each image, in place of the guildwarsrealm.net I can have your username or guild wars name if you wish, or you can simply opt to have your home forum boards link placed on there ie GWguru.

Could you please explain to me/us why we shouldn't just use guildwiki, instead of putting a lot of time and energy into something that's already been done?

No need to shoot them down, they're just trying to give something to the community. If you don't want to help thats cool, but at least they're doing something. :P

since everyone uses guildwiki anyways... why not just make the pics for them? maybe talk to the site admins or something...

I'm not shooting them down, I just can't see the reason for doing this, when we already have guildwiki...

I'm fairly certain that since its a wiki you can just go ahead, create an account, and start uploading better pictures as you get them (once wiki is back up)...

now granted it's a bit more of a thankless job.. but you're not in it for the fame.

Not only does wiki have everything here, the price check forum on GWG has very detailed lists/stats/prices of todays greens...

Actually I was planning on posting these on Guild Wiki as well as offering them to any fansite that wants to use them. In place of Guild Wars Realm will be your choice of name, either your homepage or your character name, this way there really isnt advertising for only one site, it will be a community driven project.

And I know that GWG and Guild Wiki both have excellent sources for the green items in statistics and images but why not have them all located in one convenient spot where it is much easier to view.

I will be posting an updated list of green items we have to date
