Let me see, in Pre Searing, (PRE MIND YOU) I saw a Ranger with full black, Necro with full black, monk with full black, warrior with full black, and OH MY GOD mesmer with full black.

Everytime I see them I take a pic, then start crying, not because i dont have the black dyes, but because I just saw a retard. xD

Why is it retarded? I've got my warrior collectors and starting armor dyed all black. Not because I'm retarded, but because that char is never going post and I want to look nice.

you do realise the fiery hilt on your FDS is fixed and you'll never be able to attach any hilt to it ?

That saddens me. Its value is the same in pre-searing as it is in post, the only difference is whether the person you "bought" it from knows it's actual value.

I dislike the jackasses who exploit newcomers to the game (not to mention exploit the game itself) and when I hang around in presearing and see someone trying to buy black dye for obviously rip off prices (typically 100g) I make sure everyone in the district knows how much dyes are really worth post searing.

By fair price I actually paid close to post searing prices for the ones I did buy (not many, got lucky with drops the other times). One time someone who was obviously new to the game, I gave them a few k extra because they didn't know what the value was, and could easily have been ripped off (they were very thankful once I explained in depth...)

I think if people know what they're doing, and like to dye their (possibly permanent) presear char's armour black, can do so fairly or luckily... well more power to them

It's actually quite an achievement in itself to get a large amount of gold (and play fair) in presearing to get full black, quit bashing it
