And so do you, fatty, so give it a rest. We know you're fat, and lonely, since you have to take cheap shots at stranger's lives. *cough*
Now that my rant is over, I shall get back on the thread topic--placed here for our enjoyment, yes?
Now I have quite some hours logged over my two accounts. Some of it's afk, but a lot isn't . Do I play too much? Yes. Do I regret it, or need you to tell me I play too much? No. However, ANET has decided I NEED TO KNOW!
Now I don't have the most hours on this game I am sure...simply by looking in this thread I know I don't. My theory is that I am just too superior, and this is one way The Man is trying to Keep Me Down!
This has been going on since early today, on both of my accounts. Every hour, on the hour, I am told how many hours I have been playing since I logged on...lol. After 3 hours they tell me to TAKE A BREAK! Sheesh. The logged message you see, where I am standing in my peaceful/quiet guildhall, is where I Afked for the entire duration of these 4 hours. I haven't been farming, killing, owning, talking, or even moving an inch, and ANET decided I am far too leet to even breathe in place.
This is not photoshopped. I do not really care about it. I assume other people have been getting this too? Something to laugh about.
Anet, you shall never stop me!!

Well, Anet is right man. Playing 4 hours straight is not good for your body, and mind ofcourse.

This message from ANet every hour is necessary. I expected it long ago. Playing 3 or 4 hours straight is not good for our bodies at all. We can play even 10 hours a day if we have time but every 3 or 4 hours we should take a break or doing something to recover. If you are afk and do nothing, I don't see why it annoys you.

that's great to hear. but u do tend to read about these addicts that commit suicide or just die of exhaustion playing video games.
EDIT: re-reading it looks like this post can b interpretted (sp?) in 2 ways. I do mean that its great to hear that some1 is going into a major relationship thanks to guildwars. And again my post wasnt a flame. It's just that... hmmm.. how can I say this, I lost my friend to video games. He had no disablilties whatsoever and now prefers to live in a world made up by devs, instead of the world he was born in (corney but true).

Lighten up fellas.
People have died playing video games, you are correct. You must understand however, that people die everyday. One time someone died in a movie theater, and the film was blamed for bringing about the heart attack. The old hag was just ready to croak.
The people that died to video games were reported up to playing for 3-4+ DAYS straight. Additional instances were involved such as: They forgot to eat, they were consuming far too much caffeine, were in poor shape in the first place. Yatta Yatta Yatta. You can't actually think 3-4 hours of a video game is that horrible for your body. Are you outside all day engaging in rigorous activity?
Let's look at some other similar activities: Eating, you go to your kitchen or to a restaurant and sit down to eat. If it's at a restaurant you could be sitting easily for an hour or more. You got in your car to get there, and you'll be sitting in that car when you have to go back. You may go home and watch some TV. Do you always do pushups while you watch TV? Maybe you want to catch a movie with your friends, so you get in your comfortable mode of transportation, and drive over. You walk into the theater, buy your tub of disgustingly buttered up popcorn or candy/soda of choice, and sit on your butt for 1.5-3hours. Got some homework to do? Get going on that paper, at your classic typewriter, and I want you to do 50 sit-ups after every paragraph you write. Sporting event? MMmmm over-priced hot dogs, peanuts, soda! (It's hot folks!) and lots and lots of sitting. Need to go to class? Pull up a chair! Is it a lecture? Get cozy my friend.
Video games are the devil right? Horrible for your body! Leading cause of Death!!! And of course, it is bad for the mind. Since when I'm on guildwars, a seemingly strategic game, I am not utilizing my brain in any way whatsoever. No timing or constant reflexes, thought process or critical thinking on "How am I going to get a group" crosses my mind, because that pug will just be a disaster. But clicking that remote and watching those toons takes dexterity, and brilliance.

Whats wrong with playing alot... isnt playing a game part of life too?
When people say "Get a life" , are the things they do not wasting "life" ? Who says everything thats not a game not part of "life". I'd say something is part of "life" when you find it enjoyable.

1,450 hours over the past 10 months. 432 hours on Vilaptca alone.
College is sooo not about the books...its about the all night gaming sessions that cause you to sleep through class the next day...
