it can be done! unfortunately in our excitement we forgot to take pics of the smites.. the build needs further testing and i'm currently having problems looking for a partner to do it with so it's taking time to make the guide. in the meantime here's some blacked out screenies for us to ponder.. any guesses for the mesmer's skills? >_>

Going to guess this is a Vengeful Was Khanei build, simply by my knowledge of the spell and a couple of details in your screenshots...

But congratulations on successfully killing those things with something other than a 55 Monk/Mesmer/Warrior/Necro/Elementalist. And also, congrats on finding people crazy and open-minded enough to go down with you.

the aatxe died in a decent amount of time. Same goes for the grasplings but the surprise was saved up for the smites. no hex-cover-micronagement was done we just stood there and watched. Being an UW farmer (55monk) i must say the smites went down real quick, easier to tank than 55monk and probably even faster to kill than SS. exceptions ofcourse for the ss necros out there who can put 3 SS and cover them before they get smited. i dont have a necro so i really dont know >_<

As to the cover-hexing for the Smite Crawlers, I generally put SV on the 55, wait a few seconds, Arcane Echo, Spiteful on a Smite, Spiteful on another Smite, and a quick-casting AoE hex or two to protect them in case the buggers get back enough energy to cast Smite Hex.

Nice, i still stay with my Dual SB'er build for me

Becuz my Rt is not lvl 20 yet.........., and even with smites, they kill them fast... becuz its not a hex and they cant remove HW and retri from me... so they deal dmg by themselfs.
around 60 for each attack = normal maybe more....... so its faster then ss becuz they dont have 2 be drained 2

i'd really like to try the dual sb but i can't find anyone to do it with not to mention almost everyone's too busy with the dragon festival @_@

hmm.. with this build the smites take at least 67 damage each hit so it's quite near yours. And tanking isn't a problem w/ the dual sb i think, coz well you don't have 55 hp while for the rit she takes 10 dmg max per hit due to PS while stealing 37 health at the same time.

I still prefer 55/SS UW farming as it has been too reliable for the longest time for people to deviate from the build. But it's fun farming uw in a different way sometimes

i did that and the nec was like 'what the hell? how are you doing that?' [a few weeks ago before it spread on all the forums] and because I explained the mechanics of it to him [took a while, he was from the netherlands] he gave me an ecto, yay!

Although i don't know if it is faster Dual SS with AtB =41*2dmg plus getting triggerd on axtee stances and with reackless haste = one dead bunch of cows and smites, plus i have no problems tanking 3grps of smites.

Now if u want even more speed try a VwK Rit and a Dual SS Nec. Although i havn't tried the dual SB'er build but im gonna

the problem w/ a VwK Rit and SS Nec is that you don't have a reliable counter for the nightmares especially when two spawn at the same time..

if you take into consideration the non-hassle of hex micromanagement against the smites, it is pretty fast =)

edit:* i just got my 1 week old necro to toa.. killing smites isnt that hard after all. use AV-->wait for 6+ seconds-->SS--->echoed AV--->reckless haste -> defile enchantments

indeed it was o_O. well its my first time farming uw w/ a nec so i WANTED to make sure SS doesnt get smited.. thus the double AV

i'm afraid there is no core of factions equivalent for the skills =.=
