OMG! 4n0th3r h4x!
This thread is a follow-up of this funny thread. Here is a quick and dirty photoshop edit on a very simple screenshot. Its purpose is to demonstrate that a screenshot is so easy to alter it's not even funny. Curiously, there are some forum freaks who think they'll get some sort of fame or credit by posting very poor fakes.
Who will be the first to find the nine details you can't find in a legit shot?
When I have more time, I'll post a screenshot with an imaginary weapon (with lighting effects and all). Note that you can do the same with a movie, it's just a little longer to edit each image.
Conclusions?
- If you really want to prove something is legitimate, show it to a trustworthy person (a mod or someone well known in the community)
- If you want to post a fake, please take the time to make a *decent* fake. If you need forum fame so badly, then learn photoshop and pay attention to details...

i see... a sup rune and has -57 health, it gives enegy recov +5, you have no dot on the minimap where you would be the green dot and neither do the hench, the hench aren't on the party menu( didnt see this one at first.. nice job ), you have 888 for aoe, you have 8 aoe, your health and energy bars, and on weap slot 2, you have a focus that isnt in you inventory.. sooo i think thats 9 if i got everything right

The focus stays equipped with a staff. Not altered. The last one is the most obvious of all.

Correct and no cheating from Lasareth.
The nine errors were:
1 - two tooltips visible (for only one mouse)
2 - green radar dots removed
3 - party members removed
4 - skill bar contains eight AoE (which is impossible in Snake Dance)
5 - more than 40k hit points (natural, no boost visible)
6 - four positive *and* negative energy pips
7 - skill tooltip altered with ridiculous skill description
8 - item tooltip modified : made the box bigger and added a new line and a new magical modifier
9 - item tooltip modified : changed two modifiers to make them irrealistic
I could have used the same simple techniques to make false claims about stealth updates from ANet, bugs, or to show off my ubber farming/pvp skills.
- Trick #1 can be used to merge multiple images (to create clones of a character of a monster, of an item, enchantment/hex/condition/maintained skill icons...)
- Trick #2 can be used to make the situation more impressive than it really is (typically surrounded by red dots but still alive)
- Trick #3 can be used to claim you solo killed Urgoz, Shiro, the FA or whatever...
- Trick #5 to #7 can be used to invent any ridiculous situation to support your claims that mission XX is too easy or too hard, that monster YY hits too hard.
- Trick #4, #8 and #9 can be used to claim ANet has added a ninja modification in a recent update, added bugs ingame, or worse that you have found bugged items or items with new and irrealistic magical properties. These tricks can be used to claim you're indecently rich (clone your gold, your ectos, your valuable items...) or that you have an insane amount of faction or titles...
Conclusion : a screenshot is not a proof because it is very easy to edit. And if done properly pixel by pixel, it's hard if not impossible to expose the fake.

Yeah, i've heard of this program used before on another online game. Pretty weird, but aslong as it doesn't effect the servers data storage it's ok

When you take a screenshot, if you have PS, choose "Save for Web" instead of "Save As" and Save it as a High Jpeg, as long as it's under 50kb in size, Photobucket wont resize it.

You're using a skill that ANet nerfed. That has to be faked - nerfed skills are never meant to be used ever again ever, because ANet's nerfs were so amazingly useful.

[/sarcasm off]
Good work btw

Mad aZZ PS skills is all I can say. Despite what people say, PS is not so easy to do the photo hacking as everyone likes to claim.
It appears that some of you have had training or do it for a living.
