use powerstrip/tweakxp for overclocking and the ati control panel to override gw- you get mad frames and looks alot better than using the aa option in gw

the engine is good.. been running gw like this since last year at refresh rate 85hz (vsync on- no frame loss even in pvp and towns where fps takes hit) just override in the driver.. games like fear you'll notice a big hit but gw just runs smooth.. I use powerstrip for game profiles.. let's you o/c each game differently.. tried setting up aa profiles too with powerstrip but that did'nt work out too well (did'nt set them right every launch)- I just set the aa in a saved profile on the control panel and then launch the game with clock speeds from powerstrip.. had a friend come over and see the game he ended up buying prophecies the next day.. just always been impressed with the graphics engine

At least for Radeon X800 series, forced AA doesn't work. GW menu has 2x and 4x and only setting it from there will apply the AA. More important thing about AF is the angle-independent filtering. This feature is at least in Geforce 78xx/79xx and Radeon X18xx/X19xx series. It will make blur angles sharp, giving more noticeable effect than 8xAF vs 16xAF
May I ask, how you get 12xAA for ATI cards? You must have dual cards in Crossfire mode or something.

If GW looks like crap on your 6600, you've set the card to optimize for speed, not quality... Set the card to do maximum quality, go in to GW options, drag the quality slider all the way to the right, turn on post-processing and 2-4x anti-aliasing.
You can get 12x aa and 16x aniso through the nVidia drivers (in Cnntrol Panel/Display/Advanced/<your card>, but you'll need to enable "classical view" as nVidia has decided to hide all useful settings from the user in their 'new and improved' interface) but it wont make any visible difference, so don't bother.

So why doesnt it work for Guild Wars? I am just learning about this " profile " thing under my control panel, and I tried it out for Call of Duty and I was amazedb by the AA and Anisotropic. I went to go add a profile, Guild Wars, and I have it at the AA and Anisotropic that I wanted but it wouldnt work, which is what you stated that it would make any visual improvements. I also noticed that the profile I made for the Guild Wars never saved to the menu, even though I hit " save settings " multiple times. Does this work for every game except Guild Wars?
