But one thing I had trouble with is at the place Lady Nilene instructed to go to, the place is such a dark color (looks like dusk) it was hard to find good lighting. So I went near the fire but it only lit up some of my face so I found another spot that was glowing sort of red. Anyway here is my pic: (I have my comentary)
I took my picture at Camp Hojanu because like you said, the atmosphere is very colorful just like the atmosphere of the story. Also the location looks very tribal just like the setting of Pochahontis. I am wearing this armor because I think it goes with the tribal feel and goes well with the sky. The sky is very mixed color just like the famous song in the fairytale, "Colors of the Wind"

Yup, Camp Hojanu is a really dark place. I was thinking about taking screens for one earlier TNTM assignment there but ended up trashing the idea because I couldn't work there. Sometimes if a place just doesn't work out for you, go somewhere else. The judge's suggestions aren't final unless they definitely say that they're final, they were mere guidelines. Camp Hojanu is definitely a tad too dark for your character - without the pale armor, you would really be lost in the image.
I like your pose though. I actually used that same emote for my own Pocahontas shot. Works very well. Also, the reddish glow looks just beautiful on your ranger's skin (I have to say I like this shot very much, and it definitely works as a more personal screenie).
Here's my own Pocahontas version. I wanted to try to find a place for that waterfall scene in the movie, although this location didn't have enough mist in the air. I didn't have a male with me either and I'm going to try to get something better for the assignment. This was just to try out this beautiful waterfall area I found in the Wizard's Isle GH:
Wolfgang, I have to agree with most people here. Great idea and good shot, but the cutting off of the arms really bothers me. I know it's hard to get a character to look like they're partly underwater, since you really have to watch out for those amputations. I was thinking that a dervish might make a great Little Red Riding Hood.... if one doesn't mind it's not a Disney movie.

Hehe I love these Pocahontas pictures that are turning up. I love them, and I believe a ranger has more sucess then my monk. But I got something worked out . Just wish I had a Ranger's aura for the "colors of the wind" thing that Pocahontas had throughout the movie, but I gotta work with what I got .
Perynne I love what you were trying to go for! Its so beauitful and very Pocahontas. I'm going to try some waterfalls spots myself . MAybe I will post my goof ups when I actually find a good photo ^^

I'm sure you'll do well with your monk! She already has a rather exotic aura about her, and I find she's the best choice for Pocahontas out of all of the models. Oh, and please post your goof-ups! It's always fun to see the other shots models come up with during shoots, not just the main one.

tinkerbell
Wow! Great Pocahontas shots Perynne and Brandon. Although Perynne it would have been cooler if you wore a skirt
Well I decided tot ake a stab at Tinkerbell. I chose my elementalist, Fae Paris Sloan, and I took a couple shots.
In this shot I tried to emphasize Tinkerbell's graceful flight. Although some might say the background isn't Tinkerbell-esque, Peter Pan has many scenes on the water and at some points in a cave/swamp. I chose to take a risk and cut off half her body, but I thought it made it feel as though she were moving in. I also chose to put her on the side of the picture, yet I still think she takes the spotlight, standing out in her background.
heh, this thread is alot of fun! and this week is rly neat! great idea

Ooo Tinkerbell ^.^
Eles work perfect for this, because of their action when they cast. Although the underwear for the ele kind of pull away from the Tinkerbell theme. Actually, any "dressy" ele armor dye green would work, because it gives off the fairy appeal. The cropping, you should of left that right arm in there. The ampute thing is going on and takes away from the picture.
Although you were right about the background, the swamp setting makes it see darker. But I love the color thee of the background, definatly makes me think of when they were with the mermaids . The pose is excellent ^^ Just wish that right arm was in the shot. Maybe take off your weapon and try it. Cause I assume you are trying to hide the weapon, or something that was in the background.

Roguish the meditation waterful is great but I'm not sure if it would fit the whole "Pocahontas" type
me and my friend have been working on the one for mulan and I'm totally lost lol
I like the idea of this but .. no clue if it's mulan lol. never seen it :/ Nilene said something about dragon arena and when I looked up Mulan I found out that the name is like chinese for a tree like the ones in imperial isle so I've been trying to get them into the picture but the poses I'm so lost with
And Perynne that picture of your ranger is very nice

TLA, when I saw your picture Mulan is definitely the character that sprang to mind, so you are onto something for sure.
Some lovely pieces in here! I especially liked the two pocahontas shots.
This shot isn't related to the contest. I was just tickled that the "crossed arms" pose managed to come off with the model doing that "head down but eyes up at the camera...like tiger baby, grrrrr" expression. Usually when people have arms-crossed poses in GW they look more dejected than defiant.
Picture is busy, there's clipping, and she's too "posed"...but I still love something about her face combined with the scenery.
Woops,it's too tall for the forum rules:

This is so hard !!! XD Really having some trouble atm even though i got one shot i quite like atm...but still ... going for more tomorrow...you never know .. we might be better to pull off a better one.
Heres a screenshot i cought wich wont't do for the competition but it still looks just so cute and emotional imo.
and Last Anthem Wow! The Harmony between both your characters and the aura you reflect trough that wonderful pose is awesome. Looks like your dancing in union with the world

Wolfgang, you've got some amputation happening there again... otherwise, I love the idea! She really looks like a fairy floating above the swamp. Good pose and lovely model. Just try to have your entire model in the image next time, and it'll be even better.
The Last Anthem, Mulan is a pretty tricky princess to work with. You've managed to get a pretty nice shot there too, but while the poses are lovely and it looks awesome as an overall image, I don't really get that Mulan feeling from it. After all, Mulan's the princess who disguised herself as a man, joined the army, and ended up saving the emperor. I feel that there could be maybe a little better way to show her... maybe holding a sword or something.
Although maybe that shot could be of Mulan taking dancing lessons with her prince afterwards.
To be honest, if I was doing Mulan for the assignment I'd have no idea where to start either, and I've seen the movie lots of times....
Oogami, you've got a very yummy paragon right there! Goes wonderfully with your character.
And of course, I was fooling around and taking screenies with a guildie again... this was another quickie, since we weren't able to get the full cast to show up. Neither of our ritualists were far enough to charm a bear, and the bear would have been a perfect addition to the fairytale of
Snow White and Rose Red
The lighting didn't really like our ritualist's skins, but I just couldn't let such a pretty spot go to waste... ;_; Also, the .jpg image is pretty bad quality. If you want the best screenshots, take them in .bmp format. You can change the format by modifying your GW.exe with the -bmp tag, I think... I haven't changed my own yet due to lack of space on my harddrive. Bmp images take up more space than jpg.
A tip for those of you who have Factions. Guild Halls make wonderful places to take shots, and you can visit each one of them from the Guild Halls-NPC in Kaineng without needing to buy it to use it.
Ok, I think I'll wait until the next assignment before taking shots again... otherwise I'll end up flooding this thread. :3

Hehe I love it, Perynne
Mango was wondering why Snow White wasn't an option at all. Then she had an idea to have seven guys take the elf tonic and dance around her ele's body lol. Wish we could of done that, but we lacked elf tonic

Aaaaah! XD Thank you for making my day with that mental image.... Really, those elves are pretty ugly. I think I might have had some elf tonic to donate to this worthy cause though.
It would have been pretty interesting if every contestant would have been allowed to pick a fairytale themselves. When I told the contest idea to my guildie, he immediately latched on to the word "princess" and wanted to do a Xena, the warrior princess photoshoot. The idea flopped when we noticed none of our characters resembled Xena.

Sihaya Syme was suppose to be our Snow White, with her skin as white as snow and all lol, but she was eliminated, so no Snow White. Photoshoots are planned way in advance, so we have picked out everything for everyone, and its just a matter of who advances and who gets eliminated that we need to work around!

Wow this was really a tough one. I didn't think it was going to be this hard, personally. I had so many ideas but they just didnt come out right. Plus I went through so many guy models(some were unavaliable to do reshoots when I would get on) like candy! But it was fun!
Here are my big mess ups with my many guys.
My Rit guy was very shy hehe
This was very cute, but it really didnt fit Pocahontas I thought :/
Rit - Rt Bot
Where'd my Rit go?
Rit - Wyl Tivan
He was a gorgeous one, but the waterfall scene just didn't work either.
Mesmer - Mesmerizing Hunk
